I like where they are trending. Danny Boy seems to be a good manager. However, I am incapable of giving them the benefit of the doubt. They lost that privilege over a decade ago.

We're barely 1/5 of the way through the season. Still plenty of time for them to screw it up. Don't act like they've already locked up the AL West. They blew a 10 game lead last season.

Still John Stanton. Still Jerry Dipoto. I'm glad they dumped Servais. But we've seen this team with a great manager (Piniella) and great GM (Pat Gillick) and great talent. It meant nothing with a stingy owner that only cares about the bottom line.

The funny thing? Y'all hate me for being honest, but I've been loving what they're doing. Cal might be my favorite Mariner since Jay Buhner. I'm just not counting my chickens before they hatch, because this team, this owner, doesn't deserve it.
