I know we so often hear how the schedule makers "have it out for us", but this week, we are in Tampa and are still scheduled for a late game. This is a definite plus for us, especially after the brutal game we just finished.

It's just a scheduling thing. Arizona and SF have had similar late starts in central and east coast games the past couple of seasons.

Definitely don't think there is any controversy, but I don't understand why the NFL just doesn't have every west coast team playing east play in the late afternoon games. The early games usually has like 8 games while the late afternoon has like 3. Why not just split it in half with 6 games early and 6 games late afternoon?

My understanding is that many of the Florida team's games this time of year are later starts due to the threat of storms. I could be wrong however.

I believe this is correct. IIRC, Tampa has already had two games delayed midway through the game due to thunderstorms this season.

The Niners are actually playing in Miami in an early game this week.

I believe this is correct. IIRC, Tampa has already had two games delayed midway through the game due to thunderstorms this season.

They delayed to the afternoon early in the season and that backfired with the weather delays. I think Heat is the reason four r the delay though

That was my thinking. Not based on opponent but based on the start time and lack of multiple back to back east coast games not to mention finally getting a home Thursday night game.

IDK about "main" reason, but there can be no doubt that this year's schedule is far friendlier than last season, especially in the early season games. Getting to play East Coast games later in the day is just the cherry on top. I suspect the schedulers are reluctant to play many games later in the afternoon because they would be playing into the dinner hour and might lose viewers.
