I give Woolen credit for having improved his tackling this year. He used to darn near avoid trying to tackle but has made some really nice plays at it this year.
I think his coverage technique is flawed, but that's just me. Speed on a track is different than on a football field, especially in reactionary coverage.

We ran a vanilla defense all night and only simmed pressure on a handful of downs. Mac’s mind game with Stafford/McVay was on coverage assignments. It worked out well but I thought we could confuse them with pressure looks and still blitz 4

He matched Adams up on Witherspoon and Puke up on Wollen a lot with a lot of outs and or second level slants. Woolen could not match the cutting ability of Puke and Adans was just taller the Witherspoon. Yes you need a QB as skilled as Stafford to work, but was watching it a lot, when we dropped deeper with our LB's is when we started getting hit with the runs so bad also.
I was also reading that he had figured out when, and how, the Seahawks were stunting and hashed us with killer draw plays. For whatever reason the Dline had a tough game.

Hes been benched the last 2 seasons for one reason or another, and this season as well, but his play has been great. Keep turning a blind eye, or don't, couldn't care less. 👍

Says the guy that literally can't pull out a single stat to back up their opinion. Him being benched for one reason or another doesn't preclude him playing well outside of that.

Do you have any idea how stupid that sounds? Why else would they bench him repeatedly, cuz hes ballin out? Can't cover in man, can't tackle for sh*t, and is a mental midget to boot. And it's been like that ever since his sophomore season. Guarentee he's gone after this season, watch.

What happened after being benched? He played extremely well.

The DB’s might not have been exposed as badly had the pass rush been better. One sack on Stanford since 2023 is unacceptable. The hawks need to make changes to both the secondary and the Dline.

What sucks, is that DLaw missed two sacks. The one on the 4 th down, but no one talks about one he missed earlier in the game, that Stafford hit Puka (I believe) for a long gain on. He came inside the OL, and had Stafford dead to right, but somehow ran right by him.
