Bradford would be nice as a backup, but the false starts ALONE during the regular season were tough to endure. Blocking assignments on pass plays made him a liability.

We can upgrade the position.

Was it the false start on first and 10 when we were leading Houston 27-12 in the 4th quarter of that win, or the false start on first and 10 when we were leading the Rams 7 to 6 in the second quarter of that win?

If the critical feedback is subjective/emotional, IMO inferring it as "rooting against the player" isn't out of line.

You look at the 3 sacks but how much of that was more Sam being able to AVOID Bradford's man and getting rid of the ball quickly? How many more sacks could've been given up if not for Sam's underrated athleticism and ability to move in the pocket? I imagine quite a lot.

Sam had the same issue with Garrett Bradbury when he was in Minnesota where he had to deal with someone that was just not doing his job well in pass-blocking but he was able to move around a bit to avoid the sack (until the entire O-Line ultimately went to crap in the playoffs).

Basically, what I'm saying is that it's fair to say that Sam made Bradford look far better than he actually was.

Just look at the SuperBowl game for example.

How many times did we see Bradford being beaten by his man and Sam had to play Matador?

(the answer is three times and he gave up a sack, too. A sparkling pass-blocking grade of 13.4)

Possibly on Sam’s maneuverability to a degree, but that won’t drop AB’s pressure rate, which improved significantly.

I get it that his damaging lowlight performances were brutal and prob hilarious for Ram Fan. I’ve watched vids on AB and listened to respectable talking heads on his performance and they show growth in the pass game…not minor, but major. I stand by my take that beating him out is gonna be harder than many think. If it happens, awesome, we found a better player. I’d feel the same for anyone on the team. Just prefer rationale criticism.

Chatty’s awesome, but still need to verify. It used to take 30-minutes to research and respond. Now it takes 1 to get the response and 2-3 to validate. So much easier. Like when ditch diggers were introduced to the backhoe.
