What Sam Darnold looks like in a big game under constant pressure in his face.

Of course you would.I'd still take Sam just because of Geno's INT problem. But let's face it, neither of those dudes are winning you a Super Bowl.
Every QB has INTs that aren’t their fault. Geno Smith also has consistently lead the league in turnover worthy throws.Of course you would.
Sam has 3 less than Geno. Technically geno only has 9 that were his fault but whos counting.![]()
He doesn’t though. He was 11th in tow%. Darnold was like 4th.Every QB has INTs that aren’t their fault. Geno Smith also has consistently lead the league in turnover worthy throws.

This year it caught up with him. The Seahawks have also had a bad redzone offense every year with Geno.
And they've had a sh*t OLine every year with Geno. Fair is fair, Geno had his issues this season, but the offensive struggles was a combination of problems, not all on him.Every QB has INTs that aren’t their fault. Geno Smith also has consistently lead the league in turnover worthy throws.

And probably 9 that were dropped that SHOULD have been interceptions.Of course you would.

Exactly why i'm on the fence with Geno -Just proves that nobody looks good if they can't get time to see the field, Goff was hot Garbage in L.A when their line sucked. Look at him now. Tell me all you fantasy experts that are such experts about the game which QB would thrive under those conditions.
And probably 3 or 4 more losses had it not been for his clutch 4th qrt heroics. How quickly we forge that. And probably 9 that were dropped that SHOULD have been interceptions.

Excellent post! I get down on Geno too but I know the bad performances aren’t all on him.Im curious how much you think poor playbdesign and unqualified playcallers and offensive line coaches effect the likelihood that defenses will know where passes are going and be able to affect the passer?
Or how you explain a qb who is just so flawed that his INTs caught up to him led the league in lowest Bad Pass Percentage (see image), highest on target percentages, finshed 2nd behind Joe Burrow in number of on target throws AND also had the 6th and 14th most pressure and pressure percentages respectively.
Or how you square how a qb who could lead the league (or near it) in passes completed above expectation (ie passes with an extrordinarily high difficulty of completion) and also be so sloppy that for 3 years he has apparently just been 'lucky'.
Or how now in the last 2 years, finishes 11th in deep ball accuracy, ahead of Allen, Mahomes, Wilson, Hurts, Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold and others.
Sure. Every qb has tipped INts, deflected INTs, miscommunication Ints, but i'd wager very few if any have 50% of their total account for by such circumstances.
That WOULD explain how a QB could lead the league in accurate throws and also have such a high INT percentage.
The fact that his OC and O line coach from his first 2 years arent even wanted in the league SHOULD also help explain the discrepancy.
If you assume 10 confirmed bad decisions on his INts (and those passes were even confirmed and the discussed on one of the last Brock and Salk shows), taken across almost 600 pass attempts, thats less than 2% of passes across an insane number of passes.
After that, you cant just say 'yeah, but a lot more should have been picked off' and entirely ignore that poor coordinating, predictable play design and crap protection as significant contributing factors when you are talking about a qb who literally leads the league in the fewest number of inaccurate passes thrown.
Those things simply do not add up.
Add to that, down the stretch this year when we had to win games to get in the playoffs, the qb completed 74.1, 73.9, 80, 78.9 and 72.1 percent of his passes.
Geno Smith threw an insane number of passes this year in an offense that only ran PA on 73 plays, was predictable, coukdnt protect and refused to run, and led the league in lowest percentage of Bad Passes. He also had almost half of his INTs accounted for by (others).
And people want him run out of town.
I think this guy is the one who needs to go

Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb makes mad confession about 2024 season
Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb was asked about his 2024 season and his answer was somewhat confusing.12thmanrising.com
Even DK can see whats wrong with the offense

Did Ryan Grubb pass his way out of the Seahawks OC job?
An unfulfilled preseason promise led to unrealized playoff potential, and an offensive coordinator who has probably seen his final days in Seattle.www.fieldgulls.com

X100Excellent post! I get down on Geno too but I know the bad performances aren’t all on him.
Grubb…and we need to build the trenches. I’d rather see a new coordinator and us drafting linemen before replacing Geno.
Easier said than done for this organization.Get some quality guards and IOL play and watch any QB excell.
He was already the clutchest QB in the league. While this team absolutely need TWO really good guards, I still think people are assuming way too much on how good Geno would be. He's not gonna' magically become a clutch QB. We have seen his peak.
That all being said, I suspect he'll be back, so hopefully they FINALLY get this O Line thing right.
