Losing to the putrid Rams and Giants at home was inexcusable and will likely end up costing us a home field divisional playoff game to host. I mean we seem to play better on the road so hopefully it becomes a blessing in disguise
First meaningful home win for a while today. Might be another mentality change/milestone

Barring a shocker in the WC round we were never going to have home field advantage in the divisional playoffs. Even if we had won those two we would be 8-3 and behind the Lions and Eagles. Those losses might have cost us the play-offs or the No 3 seed but no higher than that.

The division is still incredibly tight. We might need 10 wins to make the play-offs. We need to avoid a third embarrising defeat next week and then sweep the Cards to establish ourselves as favorites for the division (and it is unlikely 2nd will make the play-offs).

The second place NFCwest team probably battles Washington (among others) for the 7th spot

While I agree with this Washington are a game ahead and have a much easier run in than any of the NFCW teams. Having said that the commanders did just lose to the Cowboys so they could easily lose to more weak teams.

As things stand now I perceive we will go as far as our defense can take us. If our defense continues to improve so will our standing. I like the guy and admire his work ethic and skillset but question whether Geno can improve at this stage of his career. I also question whether we can improve our O Line before offseason. Without those things happening we have almost reached our peak for this year.

Detroit and Philly are clearly the class of the NFC with the Vikings/Pack right there nipping at their heels.

With that being said, you get into the playoffs and you just never know. The hawks are flawed, but I could see them possibly gelling, getting on a roll and then who knows?
