You forgot something... :sarcasm_on: !! You sure didn't get that idea from Pete or his coaching staff. Yards after the catch are very important...that's why the teams keeps statistics on that number.
YAC can turn a short pass into a first down sometimes. Sometimes the first down throw (where the guy can catch it and go down) just isn't there. Sometimes the QB has to dump it off and hope the receiver can make a play with his feet.

I'll take a good YAC stat any day.
