I can't apologize to JRod when he almost took 3 months off to hit!
The rebound however is astounding, I can only imagine how massive
his numbers would be and the Ms record, had he done better the first
two months.
I should be used to this granted but it just baffles me..
It's frustrating how truly generationally GREAT Julio could be if he didn't spend every April in the gutter.

Yeah, we'd have outstripped the '01 Mariners by now if Julio hadn't spent the first three months farting around at the plate. It'd be great, though, to get the #1 seed even so.

What I like about this, is I think we actually broke the Astros.. broke their spirit, broke their will, and broke their season.

I know, right? Like this happens to you every year, dude. Figure it out and don't wait until the end of August to start hitting!

Since July 1, Julio has hit .287 with 21 HRs and 57 RBIs. Basically, if he had hit like that all year, he'd have over 40 HRs and 120 RBIs.

He batted over .300 in June. Just more false info in Julio.
Problem was, that was a lot of ground balls through the infield, not a lot of power hitting of doubles and homers. People forget shit like that. :)

Yeah the AL is fairly weak this year nobody is going to win 95+ games this year.
I don't know about bust though because this team has looked ass on the road.
Until Houston. They looked FOCUSED

Well, Julio had a good June. Period

June was kind of a strange/interesting month for Julio. As you said, his BA for the month was very good (.289, not quite .300), but his OBP, SLG, and OPS were all pretty bad, and actually quite a bit below league average. I'm not bashing the guy, just stating the facts.

But regardless of of the exact numbers of any specific month, I think the overall point is that Julio once again had a pretty underwhelming 1st half. His overall numbers before the all-star break were slightly above league average (.252/.313/.417/.730). His numbers since the all-star break are very, very good (.292/.337/.569/.906).

It just gets a little frustrating seeing the same thing every year. We all know Julio is capable of being one of the best players in the league. We see it every year after the all-star break. It's just baffling to see a guy that is capable of playing so well, play so average for half a season every year.

Personally, I think Julio is capable of becoming a legit MVP candidate level player if he ever figures out how to hit for a full season like he hits in the 2nd half every year.

I feel like Cal Raleigh having this kind of season has helped Julio by taking the pressure off him of having to be 'the guy'. Seems more loose

No doubt. His April and May is maddening.
