Bait and switch?

I suppose one could reach that conclusion if they were looking really hard for something to complain about.

My bad.
Well, it was a classic bait and switch, but I'm not complaining. It was a worthy subject, just that the way you put it made it look a little like a fanboy's reaction. No need to apologize.

I haven't gotten over the trade yet. I think we deserve our monies worth. Have to admit the way he began here I thought we were going to get it. Looks pretty iffy now. So I hope he can put it together and give what he's got. We need it. I always thought he belongs near the LOS but couldn't figure out how to keep him healthy there. Here's hoping the staff had enough time to figure it out and that it works. I would love to see him succeed and finish his career on a high note. He, and we, deserve that.

I know for da#M sure if I read all the stuff ( crap ) posted about me for a year plus i'd come out swingin and he knows the game like cupp does so if he is , can be that type of diff maker on the D for us than so be it
Hopefully we at least get 12 games out of his body this year
Playing like that can be tough but I'm curious if he studied the injuries he's had to see if there is a way to avoid injury or if it's a let the chips fall where they may sitch
Good luck @prez

He could have 10 tackles and 3 sacks. But, people would still whine and moan about him and the trade etc.
So… I said my comment after listening to Pete, and you…? I never said anything bad about Adams. Feel free to carry on.

A fun fact...well, not so much fun as it is sad. The last time Jamal Adams got a quarterback sack was Dec. 20th, 2020 vs. the then Washington Redskins. To save you the mental process of doing the math, that's 90 days south of 3 years.

I mention that to show why I'm not getting my hopes up that he can turn around our pass rush problems.

Damn, did someone pee in your cereal or something?
Yes, Pete and John it was a horrible trade that hasn't worked out and will likely never work out compounded by a crippling contract that has prevented the team from making much needed and better moves for the defense.

That fact leaves out the reality that the following year, he wasn't asked to blitz and pressure the way he'd been before. They played him almost exclusively off the line and deep. And when they used him to blitz, they did it poorly.

Hard to get sacks when the scheme calls for you not to. Or makes your intent obvious.

Adams should play if he is healthy. How much is a different story.

But with his contract you want to see him play as soon as possible if healthy.

Would you please stop using facts and logic so we can go with the "Peed in her Cheerios" narrative?

The reason he wasn't being asked to blitz the following year is because teams had accounted for him, he wasn't getting to the QB when he did blitz, and because he couldn't get home, we got burned, to the tune of the 31st ranked pass defense, so he was asked to play more coverage out of necessity.

And even in that glorious year in 2020 where he set a record number of sacks for a safety, it only resulted in the 22nd ranked overall defense. We need to do better.

Some people want him to fail, it's pretty obvious. Strange times indeed..........
In all fairness Soul, there is a difference between wanting him to fail and anticipating he will fail due to a pattern of not meeting expectations.

Trade hasn't worked out like we wanted. People are different. For some fans the "what could have been" takes precedence emotionally over the "what might be". Both emotions come from the same place, being invested as a fan.

I'm trying to take a more "Soulfish" approach to JA this year, even though I don't let things go easily.

Here's my take.

He's on the roster, we are paying him anyway. Anything he contributes is a net gain over what he has given us the last season and a half or so. Literally anything. One sack. One tackle. One tipped pass. One successful defended pass attempt.

We made the playoffs last year with him watching from his couch, so if he can positively contribute in any capacity this year, it's almost like icing on a cake. Sure, the trade has had a net negative effect on the Seahawks, but I'm going to try to focus on the (hopefully) positive impact JA has compared to last year.

You asked and I don't play around or back off it's not how I live my life or any Capricorn does we hate bullshit and shortcuts and in my opinion Jamal Adams is/was the ultimate shortcut that went completely wrong on every possible level.

But I will try and take River's direction in mind going forward but you have to understand I'm a Seahawks fan that's a Capricorn that lives in Kansas City so I see what elite is every day compared to sloppy 9-8/8-9 or worse.

I'm passionate but don't understand stupidity and laziness so I overreact alot. But at the same time I'm full of hope but I need results longterm before I believe it's a Missouri thing.

even if you can ignore the trade and the injuries... I haven't really like what I have seen on the field. He struts around like he is making great plays but the biggest hits I remember have been on his own team mates. He got that sack record because that was the only thing he could do, he was useless in coverage. Ryan Neal was a huge upgrade.
