A lot of us just got sick of being spam-stormed any time we offered skepticism on the guy, or having our words twisted and having to engage in link-hunting to prove what we actually said.

Just not worth it. We realized that it wouldn't be until after a bad game (and he's actually had a few bad games in the last few weeks) that people would be receptive to the other viewpoint.

We're talking about winning a Super Bowl as the goal for this guy. If we're going to set aside the need to draft a QBOTF and instead crown Sam as one right now, then it needs to be Super Bowl wins that he's delivering, not just "some playoff viability". And winning Super Bowls is HARD. Better QB's than Sam have tried and failed. It just doesn't take much to doom you on that road. Sorry.

A SB w Darnold makes no sense.

In the playoffs a good QB is more important not less. He will likely do what he did for the Vikings. Good regular season then poor playoff performance. Since playoffs are higher pressure and he crumbles under pressure.

And don’t forget if we trade a player on Saturday and they play great for their new team on Sunday and you point that out on Monday you are “living in the past”

I am upset about the 4 INT's (that's a given), but the thing that upsets me the most is how Darnold again collapsed vs the Rams, I was really hoping for a better performance from him yesterday, and the excuse of being under pressure can not be used because the rams had 0 sacks, watching yesterday's game made me retract from Darnold a bit, and worry what will happen if you do make the playoffs, or win this division, I mean will he fold again? I don't know..

And, if he comes out the next game and stuggles, Where do we sit then? I'm just very frustrated right now, but our Defense played elite level, and the run game looked good we just need Darnold to get his head right and stop doing this because his turnovers have been steadily climbing the past few games and that's a red flag...

I'm pretty much with you on this. When Sam was signed I wasn't doing cartwheels. But it might have been the best choice available at the time, and his contract was reasonable. Let's see how it goes was my thinking.

He's always had a poor TD/INT ratio, and his performance under pressure (pass rush and otherwise), especially in big games has been questionable. Here was our biggest game of the season so far with a big buildup up to it and what happens? All the things we knew about him manifested themselves right before our eyes. For heaven's sake, our D comes up with a very impressive goal-line stand on the opening drive of the game and Sam turns right around gifts them an easy pick moments later that leads to a Ram TD. And it only got worse from there in terms of ball security.

But there is no alternative for us, and he has performed impressively up to this game, as he did likewise in Minnesota during much of the regular until the end of it, and then the playoff game. I'm just hoping for incremental improvements in these areas, and I think MM will be a good coach to bring out the best in him. I still like our chances with him.

One way I look at it is that the Eagles won the SB last year and are leading contenders for it this year again. I think Sam is clearly the better passer than Jalen Hurts. You put Hurts on the Hawks in place of Sam and, IMO, I don't think we're better off.
