I believe the rule is that they are only allowed one helmet design for every game of the season.

Many years ago, we wanted to have two helmets here, blue for road and silver for home. would have been sharp, contrasting with the unis. League nixed it. Back then teams always used authentic throwback design helmets when they wore throwback unis and could match an alt hemet with alt unis. No more.

Sorry man, but I think that's even worse. One of my favorite things about the Niner unis are the simplicity. I was really happy when they dumped the gold trimmed numbers of the 90s/early 2000s uniforms.

There could probably use some gold here and there, but not on the numbers.

I'd have said before this that you couldn't really screw up a red-on-black uniform scheme. (Look at Falcons and Cardinals alternates, they look great.)

That's what happens when you have a penny pinching owner. They're just using practice jerseys.

Alienating their traditional identity by unveiling a black uniform FOR NO REASON AT ALL, and the black uniform isn't even done well. I guess they're never going to fix the sleeve stripes either.

Gimmicky bullcrap. A gold rush uniform would've at least made sense. And they could make it work. This is just stupid.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. I've always thought the Cardinals black unis were ugly.

I think the problem is the Niners have an old school iconic uniform, so any drastic variation is going to look weird and wrong.

There are a handful of teams that just shouldn't mess with their uniforms.............Packers, Steelers, Raiders, Bears, Vikings, Chiefs, Cowboys etc...........and I'd put the Niners in that category.

Black jerseys are kinda growin' on me, but I'd still much rather stick with red Jerseys.
