I'm glad to see Perrera (sp?) Say there are no crowd noises. I remember well when Elway would whine about noise. I remember warnings if not penalties following.
Several years ago I read an MMQB by Peter King where he talked about the death of the crowd noise rule (though according to hime the rule was never taken off the books, just not enforced). In a preseason game with the Bengals (don't know who they were playing) Sam Wyche instructed Boomer Eisaison to complain about the crowd noise and refuse to take the snap. After severa minutes of this delay, the game finally resumed and the crowd noise rule was effectively dead. Wyche's whole point was to kill the rule by showing how stupid it was (in a meaningless game). I gained a lot of respect for him after reading that articke.
