I went with 29-3.

Colin Kaepernick had last year's playoff run under his belt, has a better grasp of their offense, and was coming off a career high performance, in which he tore the Packers a new one.

To completely shut down that offense, and be missing a couple of starters to boot, is VERY IMPRESSIVE to me. I'm very, very happy already with the job that Dan Quinn is doing; this defense is twice as good as last year's unit.

Offensively, we have some issues. Obviously, losing Percy Harvin threw a monkey-wrench into our plans for this year, so we're having to compensate and figure it out as we go. As long as we don't turn the ball over, we'll be in every game we play. The passing game is going to have to work itself out while the running game stays on course. It's a concern, but at this point, it's not a MAJOR concern.

42-13 because it was a complete dominance by offense, defense, and special teams.

29-3 for sure. We have the whole season ahead of us. 42-13 is a great score and left us bursting with enthusiasm. However, we know how that season ended. We don't know what this season has in store for us and it could be the springboard to a historic Hawks season. 29-3 all day.

why not 71-16? If you have to choose one, choose the most recent one.

71-16 has a nice ring to it

I'll take the 42-13 beatdown every day over this one. I lost years of my life over the first three quarters tonight.

You and me both. Last year was a championship performance, tonight was a defensive performance. Yes we ran very well but also committed more penalties than we completed passes. Killed them with the clock but this performance paled compared to their last thrashing, IMO.

We are capable of better. Scary thought.

I enjoyed this one the best...but not until it was over and I really had a chance to reflect. A couple of fluke plays started their offensive meltdown in the 42-13 contest. Without those head-scratchers that was anybody's game. In this game, they were flat owned despite having every one of their stars at full strength and running all of the plays they normally execute so effortlessly against other teams.

Oh, and the cherry on top was Justin Smith played the entire game, and we were without Okung for 3 quarters. No more excuses for 9er fans. That's conquering adversity with aplomb!

29-3 was ugly. so many penalties, and the offense wasnt awfully good outside of marshawn. but to keep them to 3(!!!) points in a game where we had huge pieces missing, in clem, BB, irvin, percy and even okung for 3 quarters, while they were almost full strength, is something special. i dont think i even noticed justin smith out there all game, where last time he being out was the reason for the slaughter, aswell as kaepernick not being completely established. To show them up again, i enjoyed that much, much more.

The first sounds more dramatic on paper because of the offensive output, but this win is actually more impressive to me even though it was nerve wracking early. There can be no complaints this time that Justin Smith was out, that Aldon Smith wasn't 100%, that the '9ers were coming off an exhausting win on the other side of the country, that they held up on offense because the game didn't matter, etc.

The '9ers had a big win at home last week. They looked more like an unbeatable team than the Hawks did with their close win on the road against the Panthers. Yet San Francisco just got held to a measly three points by a defense that played without three starters.

Happy Birthday, Pete. Nothing quite like celebrating with a defensive beat down of your biggest rival. Go Hawks!
