I was surprised, and even more surprised how the commentaters were convinced Price was the only option as we had such a need at RB.

I don't follow the college game much but IMO we had too glaring needs for an immediate starter, RB and CB. I thought Price at 32 was a bit of a reach and Washington and Coleman were viable options to get later so when we didn't trade down I was expecting CB, several options available, McCoy would probably be best if cleared medically, but having dropped so far he was obviously a risk but Hood and Terrell were on most draft boards at around this point so I was expecting us to take one of those.

Still I trust JS he knows far far more than me.
I trust he probably does

Suspect Price will have a better year than Love wil as AZ has a weak OLine and no legit starting QB. There is an interesting scouting report on Price done by Love that can found @ www.fieldgulls.com , Love has immense respect for Price and says a lot of great things about him.
What a luxury ND had, having two premier RBs. And both drafted in Round 1 yesterday. When was the last time that happened, I wonder.

He's very much the type of RB I would want on my team if I were GM or coach: a RB who can also catch dependably and has the moves/instincts to get open to be able to bail out the QB under duress. I value that over a "better" RB whose receiving skills are lacking.

I'm disappointed in the pick not going to lie. I was literally saying please don't pick Price as it was announced. Wasn't even a starter on a college team but whatever. Is what it is.
WIsh they had taken the chance, find a trading partner in round 2 and hoped he fall to them. Oh well.. we got our rb

im meh on the pick. i think RB was by far the greatest need for the team, so glad they took a position desperately needed. just not sure on the player. curious to see if he was just a system guy or is he truly a top running back. for all of those saying hes such a great receiver, what proof of that do we have? he only had 15 catches in his entire college career.
like others said, would have been nice to trade down. but if there were no trade partners than theres not much you can do. i will say im at least more confident at the RB spot post pick than i was prior to the draft.

4.49 seems a bit slow for a 1st round RB. He'd better have some elite traits. Then again, were there 1st round quality picks available at other positions? If not then he's the best 'need' option from a bunch of mediocre options.

For those who are "meh" on Price, just remember, Seahawk FO drafting in the last 3 years has produced unquestionably enviable results. Yes, nothing in the draft is guaranteed, but the FO just has that knack that I don't expect will whither and die in 2026.

I'm surprised and disappointed but I'll root for him, he's a Seahawk.
My opinion on Price is littered through .net, I hope I'm wrong, but not my kind of RB
Not a short yardage guy, not a 3rd down back, averaged only 8 carries over two years, 4.52.

I think we could have done as good or better on a RB later and now are going to miss out on a CB, RG, edge.
Maybe Price can gain 5-8 lbs of good weight and find his stride in our offense on this bigger stage and make me eat crow, happily.

If it makes you all feel any better about my Eyore attitude, the last time I was this negative about a pick was Russell Wilson. LOL
If it makes you feel better I think Charbs and Wilson can be short yardage guys in this slightly new system.

I get it though I thought we were going corner but I also told my son pre-draft IF they go Price I'll be excited because that tells me they think Price is a difference maker in a SB window. Maybe the new OC said he needs this for his system. I would almost guarantee they will still get a good corner later too. I totally get where you're coming from but I think you're going to love Price and how he fits the zone system.

We're in good hands!

The more you think about it the more this really was a big need for this team. If Charbs wasn't coming off the injury it would be different. I'm glad we'll head into the season with Price in the fold.

From what was said before the draft I think they tried to trade down but the Jets an Titans traded up for picks 30 and 31 and I guess noone else was interested.

John has been on an almost unprecedented heater and I think Mike M also has strong thoughts on what he wants. Those two working together seems magical at this point so I'm going to trust them and I'm pumped about whatever they're envisioning for this team. The fact that there were so many really, really good corners and they still went Price tells me they see something special. This isn't a Collier situation where Pete forces the pick because he's afraid if they dont get him the position is done. This feels much different.

There were also two OL from same school drafted in Round 1.

Those of you who don't like this pick need to remember something important: the Rams used the 13th pick in this draft on Ty Simpson and that's really, really funny.

Additionally, everyone who likes this pick should also remember that.
I'm honestly shocked in a very short window to win the SB they didn't take someone to try to win the arms race with Seattle. It doesn't make sense. Brock Huard went nuts when this move happened and I think he even likes Simpson and I felt the same way. The last thing I wanted was for them to take a guy who helps them immediately as SB rosters/windeows are never guaranteed and they should've tried to capitalize on it and didn't. It was really, really funny lol.

Schneider makes bad moves like every other GM. First round is also his worst round.

I saw that reaction by Brock. Pretty funny. He was real worried the Lambs might get that TE or somebody else that could be used against the Hawks. He was stoked when they called Simpson's name.

So from the bits I caught of the presser last night and reading Dugar's article this morning, they did not get a deal they liked or any at all to trade down which is why they stayed at 32. I guess the thought process was filling the roster's biggest need, even if it went against conventional wisdom was better than taking cents on the dollar in a trade down.

I would have preferred corner there and RB later, but I am also fairly certain I will be proven wrong otherwise I would be making millions of dollars to run an NFL team.

As long as they keep drafting RB instead of paying RB (unless another Lynch comes along) I will be happy.

Barry Sanders, Terrel Davis, LaDainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Edgerin James, Derrick Henry and Lynch are the RB I can think of over the last 3 decades that were worth big contracts. I am sure I am missing one or two but Shaun Alexander and Emmitt Smith are intentionally left off that list.
