    An Interesting Patriot Tactic

I guess it all depends on what people regard as cheating. In F1 teams and drivers will automatically break a rule if the gain from cheating outweighs the penalty for cheating. Everyone expects it. In the NFL that can sometimes happen, (such as the last defender dragging the ball-carrier down by...

    An Interesting Patriot Tactic

Maybe the refs need to be fairer to defenses. I don't see refs running to re-spot the ball in the 1st quarter. Why do that to help whoever is on offense late in the 4th quarter? Why stop the clock for tv to review something trivial - effectively giving the offense another time-out? The bottom...

    An Interesting Patriot Tactic

I see this much like snapping the ball early to catch the defense with 12 men on the field. It's part of the game, as is trying to get the defense to jump offside. I'm not a fan but changing the rules over this would be an over-reaction.

Justin Jefferson: "'We would've done better if Sam Darnold returned"

Every big decision is like that. What if Wilson had handed off to Lynch?

Justin Jefferson: "'We would've done better if Sam Darnold returned"

If they only accounted for $13M or so of Darnold's salary then obviously they'd increase their future dead money situation with the other $24.5M or so. The Vikings weren't, and aren't, in the best cap shape. They would have some even tougher choices for 2026 based on this, (which I haven't...

Justin Jefferson: "'We would've done better if Sam Darnold returned"

...and the Falcons will have Penix and pay for Cousins for the next 2 years...again. Later edit: This is incorrect. The renegotiation was completed on Jan 3 and not Jan 6. Jan 5 was the deadline for contract changes for players who are going to be released as a Post Jun 1 cut. By completing...

Justin Jefferson: "'We would've done better if Sam Darnold returned"

I doubt the Vikings had an additional $37.5M to spend. Sure, they're only accounting for $14.4M of that this year, (with the rest of it as dead money over the next few seasons), but signing Darnold would have meant the Vikings didn't sign other players and put those cap hits back.

    Vikings GM fired

Missing the playoffs with a 9-8 record isn't a disaster, especially considering the divisional opposition. Ultimately the regular season record doesn't matter. It's about meeting or exceeding fans' expectations, and Vikings fans wanted playoff success.

Cooper Kupp gets the last laugh

The Rams were perfectly happy to pay him the $2M he was due and trade the remaining $15M 2025 contract to any team for a late conditional pick. You don't actively try to trade that sort of contract if you think the player might retire. I think there were zero worries about a divisional rival...

NFL's desired changes for 2026 season

That's how I remember it as well. There was going to be a 5th team in Germany, in a 6-team league.

    Riq Woolen controversy. (Poll)

Woolen will be an unrestricted free agent who won't be tagged. What happens next isn't in the Seahawks hands, unless they want to outbid the market. He's not someone i'd outbid the market for and I don't see him offering the Seahawks a big home town discount.

If it comes down to a 45 yard Jason Myers field goal

Me too. The Seahawks would be about a 75% favourite. I watch for the entertainment and last second deciders are generally entertaining. The Seahawks like wet and windy outdoor games, right? Let's add some rain and wind to this scenario. 🫣

NFL's desired changes for 2026 season

It's ok to be in favour of having teams in Europe, and it's ok to be against it. You said it's ok for teams to be in Europe but they would have to do all the travelling. I'm just asking you how that would work. Originally I just asked you to think about it for a moment. whatever. No big deal and...

NFL's desired changes for 2026 season

As per your 'no US to Europe travel policy': If you have 1 team in Europe by your stance they'd play every game in the US and never actually be in Europe. If you have 2 team in Europe by your stance they'd probably have to play each other 6 times and then play 11 games in the US. If you have...

Bill Belichick NOT named to HOF on first ballot

My mistake. I read your previous post too quickly and misunderstood it. As per your post 50 voters each have 3 votes with just 5 possible candidates. Up to 3 candidates can get in provided they have at least 40 votes. If no-one gets 40 votes then the candidate with the highest total gets in...
