This season, is the second season Schneider's been in total control. This is likely the starting lineup:

LT - Cross: The best of what we have, but I often critizie him for subpar anchoring, his butt was often a foot or so from Geno as he was pushed towards Geno, and didn't have the strength to be away from Geno.

LG - open for competition, Haynes? Zabel? Probably Zabel, so the question would be how much better Zabel over Tomlinson in his rookie season? Tomlinson was 62 overall, 65 pass blocking, 59.7 run blocking, or 66th out of 136 guards.

C - Olu? Zabel? Olu (64 overall, 54.8 pass blk, 65.8 run blk) was kind of ok, but not inspiring. Sundell?

RG - Bradford? Haynes? Both didn't excel in 2024

RT - Lucas, he was below average in 2024.

What is your opinion on our 2025 OL? I am totally fired up, liking an OL filled with players drafted by the Hawks. Schneider didn't sign any veteran IOL in the free agent period, he was confident about the line, didn't feel the need to invest big $$$.

Do you ever initiate posts that aren't just total sarcasm?

They need to sign a FA vet RG to help this OL transition & give the young guys time to get their feet under them.
17 games is a long season and injuries change things quickly.
RG Brandon Scherff is 33 & maybe not a perfect WZ guy but he had a top-15 pass block win rate in 24' and is a great run blocker.

There are still about 20 IOL FA's out there and around 15 OT FA's. None are an upgrade? We have cap room.
Keeping Abe Lucas healthy & on the field is key for us. Maybe we should move Lucas to RG if it protects him better?

I really want to see OL improvement and watch a dominant run game for once.

Desperate times.
Go get Ryan Hunter from the Toronto Argonauts or Dejon Allen from the BC Lions.

A veteran would be ideal but at the same time the issue is they like A lot of their young O linemen. Need to give them time to develop. They already can't keep them all, you add someone and there's another one you can't keep on top of that. JS might feel stuck between a rock and a hard place with that one. The vet would be nice if there wasn't a lot of youth they like. Would the tradeoff be worth it? I'm sure they have looked at that with what's available and decided no, not at this time.

More like JS doesn't want to admit his mid-late round OL picks are subpar and the coaches feel like they can work miracles. That statement isn't a knock on JS or his coaches, not at all. It's damn tough to find & develop OL from the college ranks these days.

At some point you have to admit your offensive line has been at the bottom for 8 years and your development plan is behind schedule. If Bradford & Haynes don't show in camp they should be on the bubble. I sure don't think having a couple of day 3 OL rookies who 'might' have potential should prevent us from snagging a 30something vet RG who instantly upgrades this horrific OLine.
As far as potential young OL talent being lost from the roster, come on really.
Carry 10. Make the tough calls, stash them on the practice squad, they'll likely be safe. Throw a couple phone #'s in the desk drawer for a call around Thanksgiving. Let Benton make the call, it's his baby.

If this is their mindset as you suggest Matt, then I think that is the problem we are facing.
