It’s a consensus among GMs that Milroe will get drafted top 50 there will be at least 1 team that feels they can make something out of him he is a lottery pick that could pay off

I see some young Russell Wilson in him ability wise construct a RPO offense with some deep passing. Right now he is a mess in short & medium range passing that I think is more mechanics than anything else. I don’t think he would be a good fit for the Seahawks

I’m a Bama fan as well (family ties) and I do not want Milroe as our QB under any circumstances. He will never be a quality passer, he makes so many unbelievably bad decisions and he is a fumbling machine. No no no on Milroe

I've stated (perhaps wrongly) that I wouldn't be adverse to taking a developmental flyer on him. I'm no expert, but he does have certain intangibles that other draft prospects don't have. He could be a bust, but I'd at least wouldn't mind if they took a shot on a QB who's got what every QB besides Ward doesn't, some God given physical talent, a great attitude, obvious intelligence, and a strong work ethic.

Milroe was invited to the draft, so the league must have good intel that he's likely to get picked somewhere in the first round. McShay thinks a team like the Giants will double dip and trade up to the bottom of round 1 to take him.

I think it's crazy that he could go this early too, but I don't think it's a ploy. Three years ago, about two dozen players were invited to the draft, including Malik Willis and Matt Corrall who didnt go off the board until well into the third round, but in the two years since, they significantly cut the number of invitees and they've all been prospects who went off the board early. In those two years, the latest drafted invitee was Keion White, who went 46th, and of the 13 drafted last year, all were gone by the end of the first round, with Darius Robinson (27th) selected last. I think they know something on Milroe.

Nice post. I think its about TV ratings & $.
This is such a weak QB class, it's being artificially pumped up. Basically an aggressive carnival barker changing his gist from Sanders to Dart and now Milroe to keep things fresh & elevate interest.
Who knows?, Milroe could surprise us all.
But I'm starting to think he is much more of a project than Holmgren working the bugs out of Brett Favre.

Favre was on his way to playing himself out of the league before the Packers traded for him in, Jerry Glanville was constantly making fun of him, in college he played for a running team it took some excellent scouting on the Packers part to know there was something in Favre and the rest is NFL history

Let me start by saying that I am by no means saying that Jalen Milroe is going to turn into Lamar Jackson but a huge knock on Jackson coming into the league was his completion % and the fact that he would abandon the pass and use his legs too quickly. He never even hit 60% completion rate in college. Milroe looks like he has the same drawbacks and similar ability to run the ball. Who's to say if he puts in the work that he can't turn into a competent passer and still be deadly with his legs. I have no idea because I didn't see him play at all this year but someone is definitely going to take a chance on him and the end of the first round gives you another year of control.

Sure his passing was average, but his arm was not.

Isn't Anthony Richardson the comparison for Milroe? Big and fast, great athleticism, questionable decision making? I wonder if Milroe would be getting more hype if Richardson hadn't come before him and been a mild flop.

Richardson only went that early to begin with because teams were desperate to find the next Josh Allen. Milroe is somewhat comparable in that they're duel threat QBs with strong arms and are unrefined passers, but while Milroe has a little above average size, Richardson has a physique and frame that look chiseled by the Gods. And while Milroe is hardly a great passer, he at least had 64% completions to Richardson's 53%. I don't think it's ultimately a good comparison.

Richardson was a stupid pick. At least Milroe has experience, he's not going to be a good NFL QB but at least you can look at a lengthy tape, look at his athleticism, and say -- maybe?!
