For Polanco to bat 3rd and have an at bat like that. Wow. Not sure what that was....they send Rojas on 2-2 but Polanco doesn't swing. Didn't swing at a fast ball earlier either. So my guess was that it wasn't a hit and run. Makes sense. This team rarely hits and runs. It was just bad baseball.

Please swing this time at a strike Polanco, don't be Julio.

Hanny has .130 more OPS points than Garver yet Garver bats ahead of him. It. Doesn't. Make. Sense.

Why does j-rod hit down on the ball?
Even his little pre-bat warm up swings are ridiculous.
Like he hits down at the ball.
He hits the best double play ball in the league.

Home run derby's ruined his swing rut and coaching staff can't get him out of it. He's on his own out there. A 20 something year old needs mentorship in major league baseball don't care how much hype he has.

Another series win. Pitching so far is best in Mariner history.

Alright. They just took the first 2 out of 3 to clinch a series win against the Braves. Arguably the best team in baseball. The pitching has been so good that elite isn't a strong enough word to describe it. What we've been witnessing since the first 10-ish games of the season has to be a historically great run. They've given up less than half the amount of runs as the next best since April 10th.

Munoz gonna be on the shelf for a bit. Nice 5 out save, though.

Stanek has been worrying me for a few games now. I don't think he lasts the season at this rate. Bad news about Brash, not sure what we have to fill that role going forward. But I don't trust Stanek when he takes the ball these days.

Been playing the best teams in the game the past couple of weeks and winning at a pretty good clip.

OK, but like I said, I don't trust him. He's been soft like that before. Yeah, he hits triple digits, but he has control issues. He's definitely not Munoz 2.0. He gives up too many runs and walks.

Imagine how good this team would be with just league average offensive numbers. They might be the best team in the AL if that was the case.

who wouldn't trust anyone in this rotation right now? Stop thinking an obvious move makes anyone on the coaching staff a genius lol. They've made the playoffs once and blew it. They still have things to prove.

About the average offense comment... exactly. Just get one or two more pieces and you're good. Naylor from CLE would be absolutely perfect. Sign that dude after the season. Arraez would be spicy. There are/were a lot of players that they could have signed that weren't mega stars. Just a few decent pieces that's all they need. The Giants won 3 out of 5 world series because of elite pitching and just good enough offense to get the job done. (And Bochey is a smart cookie)

You dont like Servais. And they blew game 1 vs Houston. However, Houston was favored and won it all. And Bochy won when he had a great team. He didnt when he didnt. He wasnt even top 5 for wins above expected. Servais is 2nd since 2018.

Bochy is a great manager but i am making a point.

Seems he wins with great teams, loses with bad teams. Then moves on to other teams.

Even with our pitching (or maybe because of our pitching), I still think we should have gotten one more bat this winter. But the funny thing is that what I thought would be our weakest position, third base, has turned out to be the one of the best with Josh Rojas (.308 BA, .898 OPS). Just goes to show you. If only JP, Julio, Polanco and Garver can get back to being themselves, we could be even decent offensively.

He definitely became mediocre at the plate since that derby. My hope was that he would be able to fully recover, whether mentally and/or physically, during the recent offseason. We now see that he has not. Concerning. If the problem is not injury-related, then it's time for the coaching staff to stop treating him like an untouchable superstar and work with him like he's a rookie. And maybe they already are, but note they've yet to send him back down to the minors for a couple weeks. I don't know if that's the answer, but currently, he is almost wasting a roster spot offensively. At least he's still kick-ass catching flies in the outfield.

You have a funny definition of mediocre…

At .256 this season he is definitely not at full stride but I have a hard time calling him mediocre considering he is surrounded by a Mendoza line-u.
