No, I wanted to throw the bank at K9. If you have someone at work who hasn't proven they can do a vital job, that's not panicking, that's called being concerned.

I am all about being a homer, but when JS wants to give 46% of the offense (The running game) to unproven players, that's a problem.

It could all work out, but right now it looks tragic.

What have you been smoking dude? He's been actively rehabbing and doing drills. Macdonald said his rehab is way ahead of schedule. I know he's on the PUP list but this isn't like a regular season PUP list. Emmanwori is on the PUP list doesn't mean he's missing time.

15-20% NFL players never recover/come back from that injury. There are drills (Chubby me can run a 40 and do cones) and then there is playing at the NFL level.

But that is promising news...it's just not news that win games.

The roster needs to be constantly churned to avoid becoming stagnant and contract-bloated. Hopefully that's the lesson that Schneider learned from his last post-SB experience. Walker had a great postseason stretch, but I'll take Price's potential, youth, and contract over the next 4 years.

It was nothing more than wishful thinking to believe McIntosh would be a meaningful answer. Or Holani.

Charbs will be back in due time but we don’t know when and in what condition. Huge question mark.

So, we’re down to a rookie that will be just that, a rookie, and who may or may not be more than serviceable. Then there’s Wilson, who carried the ball 125 times last year, with the longest run being a whopping 15 yards.

I’m a glass half full guy generally but this ain’t it.

Yeah - if you turn out to be right - come back here and trumpet that. Other than that, it’s just fantastical thinking. Just like all the people who thought McIntosh was a hidden gem. Lots of optimism without historical evidence for support. That’s great and all but it’s just a very high risk strategy. We will see.

What makes you think Price is a “beast”? We don’t have a lot to go on exactly. For 3 years at ND, he averaged about 7 carries per game and just over 41 yards per game. I hope he is indeed beastly but his college career doesn’t scream that exactly.

Sorry to hear that. Kid showed flashes of great play. The fact he is PUP means he hasn't healed yet, so his chances of signing on somewhere this year seem slim to me. I certainly wish him the best going forward.

Sorry, but I'm hardly in panic mode over our RB room. And I'm surely not wanting to go out and sign some damaged goods vet. Anybody who is currently not in camp with somebody is suspicious to me. Franchising a running back is cruel GM'ing if you're not actually working toward a long-term contract.

Really? I hadn’t heard that before. He would have received around $14MM to address his supposedly bruised feelings. Last I heard - this NFL thing is a tough business.

By saving that $14-15 mill, we had money to get 2-3 other quality players.

And do we really know if Walker would have signed and played on a franchise tag? Or would he be a holdout distraction right now? The idea that you're going to get one more year of him via the franchise tag isn't really that viable.

I think they could have figured out if they wanted to. They obviously did not.

We will see if it was a good choice or not. I just viewed K9 as an insurance policy for at least a year.

Maybe the run game will be OK. Maybe it will not. If it isn’t, we know what that will do to the passing game.

I liked the odds a lot better with having a proven guy back there.
