That's entirely implied by my post. If they were mutually exclusive, then there would be no debate to be had. We (mostly) all agree that it was good for Walker. We are debating whether it is good for the Seahawks or not.

And it's not clear cut whether it would have been good for the Seahawks to franchise him. What if he decided to hold out? How big of a distraction would that have been? Players don't like the franchise tag so what would the impact been on the front office's reputation with its current players? It's not a binary thing where franchising Walker means one more guaranteed year of service and then moving on.

The adults are talking, Skippy.
I don't get this.

Reading through you and that guy's conversation, I'm still perplexed as to why he can't accept that you have a different opinion from his? And then he says "Opinions backed by facts" which is asinine because Opinions are Opinions, not Facts.

Plus, wasn't this was a thread regarding McIntosh being waived? Could've sworn it was.... 🤷‍♂️

And if Price manages to produce Walker's 60 yards per game, we're back up to where we were.
Agree to disagree. I'm of the opinion that a rushing attack normally helps to control a game rather than win a game. I was never a fan of Walker. His yards per game tally wasn't a big thing. Walker was a game-changing, score from anywhere threat, even if it didn't happen all that often, and even if the rest of his game wasn't good. Price offers something different to Walker.

The Seahawks have the potential to be a top 6 RB room IF Price is NFL ready and Charbonnet is back to his pre-injury form. Until then it's just potential. I mean, the Raiders have the potential to have a top 6 QB room...but right now??? meh.

And we hear the things he has supposedly complained about since leaving too that makes me think he mighta been unhappy being tagged

If you are talking about me, then you aren’t reading my posts. I pointed out more than once that there are other angles and aspects surrounding this discussion and I understand them, even if not agreeing with them.

I’m fairly sure that there are some on here that just don’t like other opinions.

I also prefer facts in a debate as opposed to “it will all be fine because it’s the Seahawks and it will work out”. Or maybe, that is a fact in and of itself?

Curious.

Maybe I should create a K9 thread where people can go there and continue to talk about (more like complain) about JS's decision on Tagging/Not Tagging him or something else regarding a Player who no longer is a Seahawk in the NFL NATION section? (hint, hint)

It seems each time running backs are discussed in any thread here, certain people want to hijack it and talk about that instead of what the subject of the thread is.

(Unless that's how things are here....gotta remember I'm still new here so maybe this is the norm? I don't know)

Going forward, we need to be prepared to slowly swap out veterans for rookies/young players. Otherwise, over time we're going to end up with the same expensive, decrepit roster we had last time we won a SB. This offseason, it was running back. To your point, until the postseason run, Walker was considered one of the most frustrating players on this board.

Eh, you knew what you were doing.

You still haven’t explained why Price is a “beast”. I mean, if it’s just your feelings and optimism, that’s fine, just say so. Once again, I hope he is great and JS has made plenty of great moves, so we will see.

“beast” is a subjective opinion here, but have you watched any of his tape?

I don't understand why anyone would freak out over K9. Macdonald wants RB by committee and it paid off with fresh legs in the playoffs. Makes no sense to overpay for a part time RB when the real engine that makes the run game go is the Oline and play caller.

But why argue? It's just a term. Beast. Great player. Good player. Solid player. Damn good player. Call him whatever.
It's just a term. I think he's a hell of a player. Does it honestly matter if I call the guy a beast? I watched him in college, and he sure looked like one to me. Stoked to see what he does this year.

To me, the funny part about the argument is the ASSUMPTION that he won't be good. Then doubling down and claiming it as "facts"

Entertaining. But not really worth more than a few responses.
It's a hilarious take, TO ME. That's all. I'll say what I've said about several rookies over the years: Give the kid a chance.
I mean, we have guys on the roster that were called a bust barely a few games into their career.

"yes beast plays" - "no beast volume" = "no beast evidence" I think is the argument.
On the other hand, some RBs might need the volume to get into a rhythm. If anything, this just shows he's a good fit for a system with multiple RBs sharing the load

Mostly draft day highlights. Watched some ND games. Primarily going off of his stats. I’m sure he’s got all the tools/measurables and looks good.

Please don’t get me wrong - I am in no way down on the guy. I’m very happy he is on the team. My only point about him (which is really in context with looking at the entirety of the RB room right now) is that he’s a rookie and I (we?) don’t know how much to expect from him. Just like most other rookies. On top of that, he’s going to be asked to take the bulk of the carries, right out of the gate, it seems. Seems like a huge ask for him to be RB1 in the short term. I hope he is indeed up to it.

See, that is where you are making a bad assumption. Nobody ever said he will not be good. Not once. If you think otherwise - point it out. He is a rookie - so we just don’t know yet how he will be in the NFL. Kind of hard to say. Might be great. Might not be. We just don’t know yet. I surely hope he is.

Every single player in the history of the NFL was a Rookie at some point. How about letting it play out? Assumptions are not facts.

Not much else needs to be said. Go Hawks

Love watching this guy play.

Fresh, young legs! The RB position is going to be just fine. Maybe even better than just fine. The thing about the RB position, is that it’s really the one position on a football team where a rookie can come in and perform at a high level. The learning curve at RB isn’t like many other positions. It’s a position where a guy can come in and just use his instincts to find the hole and go.
He will not be running behind a makeshift line with any huge question marks. Price seems to me like the best option of a plug and play player for this team at this time. The amount of concern I have for the RB position could fit in a thimble. It’s my favorite position on a team and one that I pay the most attention to. As a RB back in the day I have a basic understanding of hitting the hole, bouncing outside to find one or just powering through what might be a small crease.
I guess some folks just need something to concern themselves with.

No, I wanted to throw the bank at K9. If you have someone at work who hasn't proven they can do a vital job, that's not panicking, that's called being concerned.

I am all about being a homer, but when JS wants to give 46% of the offense (The running game) to unproven players, that's a problem.

It could all work out, but right now it looks tragic.
You wanted to throw the bank at two 1080 yard seasons. And two he couldn’t handle a full load. Got it
