I’m am just glad in his statement the new boss said he looks forward to earning our trust, that’s all I ask for, trustworthy
I saw on a recent Hawksblogger podcast where he played clips of an interview that Vinod did where in one clip he said that when conducting interviews, he would purposely provide a POV of something even he did not believe or was not in support of, just to test the candidate to see if they have any critical thinking skills or if they're just going to nod and agree.

Basically from this, he doesn't want Yes-men.

Here is the full podcast if you want to look at it :

Let me just add to that earlier comment regarding the Beach thing that @nategreat was complaining about :

I think it was understandable that he wouldn’t want randos in front of his house, especially when the previous owners were charging for beach access.

New Owners, New Rules. DEAL WITH IT.

Okay that's all I'll say on that.

I have absolutely zero concerns about his loyalties. Pretty much every player in the NFL grew up having a favorite team and they don’t usually get drafted to that team. That doesn’t mean they aren’t going to love the team they are on and give everything they have to its success. This is tenfold for the owner. As soon as he made this deal you can bet that his favorite team is the Seahawks.

I am thankful for what the Allens gave us in the Seahawks kingdom. Any owner will be hard pressed to surpass the bar that was set.

As for our new owner(s), I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and let the cards play out. Hopefully in a few years we will all look back on this and say that all the worrying was for nothing.

Exactly.

Though I do hope in the coming years we learn more about his son since I think he'll be the one who will be around for the next 50 years or so.

Agree. Neal will be the one who will get the most out of the new "toy", I imagine. I will give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise that they will want to keep making the Seahawks great.

Most players don't get to choose what high school they play for. They might have more choice in what college they play for, but not necessarily if they're not actively recruited. Hell, their favorite college team may not recruit them at all and they could be left with a choice between a 'lesser' school or trying to walk on, a risky move.

At the NFL draft, it kind works out that the better you do in college, the worse the team is that drafts you.

And after all that, they are expected to "love" whatever pro team they end up on, and most actually do that.

Anyone heard from Vijay?

I miss his posts, is it racist that the new owner reminded me that I haven’t seen him in years. (Rhetorical)

Where you at/been brother?

Edit
Dang, now that I think about it, his lil mini me is probably close to graduating HS.

There is going to be an uneasy feeling for me for awhile. At least until I hear this new ownership group says something to the effect that they have no intentions of taking an over-active part in the day to day running of the team. And even then they'd have to follow through on those words. My hope is that we won't even hear much from them like Paul and Jody. Very much background figures.

Here is another concern of mine, and I hope I can articulate it properly. With a 10 billion dollar price tag...this consumes a sizable portion of their finances I would think. Does it become the largest single holding of this family? I am curious. If so, will a family that "likes to let good people do good work"......(trust the experts in the field of concern) do their thing? It seems that they are getting into this late in life, with the exception of Neil.

Dude co-founded Sun Microsystems. For an IT Solutions Architect nerd like me, at least this guy wasn't born a spoon-fed nepo-baby (he didn't grow up wealthy) and he's one of the truly original tech pioneers.

I'll let the results speak over time, nobody can predict how well - or not - this'll turn out in the coming years.

HEADS UP ALL

You may have noticed a post or two missing/deleted from this thread.

This is a simple friendly reminder.
We do not allow alt or throwaway accounts here at .net.
Frankly we are better than that, and it’s disrespectful to the community at large.

We will always address this when we become aware, and the creator of an alt account is placing their privileges to post at risk.

Again just a friendly reminder, please refrain.
Damn..did my John63 alt account get discovered????

Totally! Family-oriented, billionaire owner who leveraged technical abilities and business savvy to revolutionize an industry? Worked out pretty well for our team the last time.
