I'm going to go with the opinion of Dan :

I want to believe this was the case and not because of any so-called "Perceived Disrespect".

It just doesn't make any sense otherwise.

I don’t think there would’ve been any way the Seahawks would’ve made the Super Bowl without Walker.
I don’t think there are many people who disagree with that. IMO it’s how he feels disrespected. Many believe the fact that he split carries early on allowed him to do what he did during the playoffs.

What you’re saying can be true. It can also be true that he wouldn’t have gotten that chance without Charbs to lessen the burden.

I’ve seen arguments about how if you average his stats out as an every down back that he’d have some insane stats that show he deserved his new contract. I will have to disagree and say he’d probably end up with the same as he did cuz he’d have been hurt or slowed down in the 2nd half of the season.

basically fans can still dislike a player on their team for personality or whatever reasons they perceive as them doing something that doesn’t mesh with their beliefs. just like K9 can have his own perception.

My take:
  1. All players want a BIG contract after the rookie contract, nothing new here.
  2. Did he deliver when we needed him? NFC championship and super-bowl? YES, in my opinion.
  3. Did he quit on the team and want out? Not according to Schneider, K9 wanted a new contract.
  4. Did he deserve Schneider's drunken act? No, not in my opinion. It was insulting under the circumstances.
LOL, I am not even a K9 fanboy, I advocated trading K9 last off-season.

I don’t think he was enough of a receiving threat to deserve that much money but good for him to get the offer from the Chiefs. Great runner though, he was money throughout the playoffs.

Again, I find myself in the minority, make that absolute minority. In my opinion, without K9, we may not participate in the Super-Bowl, even if we did, we probably wouldn't win it.
You might be right. It makes sense, who comes in after K9 and offers anything near the same threat?

Probably to a fault, I rarely see these kind of things as disrespect.

It’s perfectly reasonable for Ken to feel like he is a Chief now, to feel like he has closed the Seahawks chapter of his life, and it’s time to move on.

At the very least, it would be quite awkward to be a celebrating with a group to whom you no longer belong.

He’s never struck me as the kind of guy that revels in the limelight, and that could play into it too.

I think people read way too much into these kind of things.

Would have been great to see him there, but he doesn't owe us anything. He busted his ass, filled his role admirably at a cap hold well below the value he brought, and never caused any problems for anyone. I'm glad to see that, for the most part, fans aren't acting petty. I hope he kills it this year, and his team is awful in spite of it.

To me this is a nothing burger.

He’s no longer on the team and didn’t want to celebrate the win an receive his ring. There is no doubt he played well for the team after Charbonnet got hurt and was key in the end of season team run to a championship. It was his choice he’d have been celebrated here despite moving on with his new big contract. Truly his loss.

He’s a good RB but didn’t always deliver that excellent play during his time here. There were lots of times I thought when he didn’t deliver that the team could do better. Frankly I’m not really sad he’s gone, perhaps he’ll be genuinely missed. Somehow though I doubt it, time to turn the page.

Thanks for your time here K-9, good luck in KC!

I pay next to no attention to things like ring ceremonies and White House appearances, so I don't really care. However, I do think that it K9's refusal to attend is a sign of immaturity and sour grapes, sort of like tearing up an invitation to a former girlfriend's wedding.

Having said that, I do appreciate his contributions to our 2nd Lombardi.

Nothing to be upset about. I thought he'd want one last party with his teammates though. Oh well. Unlike RW I have no problem with KW and as the Chiefs are my #2 team I hope he is even more successful than last year except in his final game against us.

If he had a legitimate reason for missing it, you'd think that he'd come out and say it. The fact that it's nothing but crickets is pretty incriminating IMO.
Especially when Riq f'n Woolen (Mr. "All about ME and not the team") shows up to celebrate.
