That nonsense just proved exactly why you can't have BOTH of them in the lineup at the same time, especially hitting near each other. They subbed BOTH of them for inferior players vs a "leverage" lefty that wont be seen again. We would have a better chance later vs Miller with either Raley or Canzone instead of the 2 scrubs. If you're gonna pull Raley for the "Handed-ness" of 1 ab, Canzone needs to be the replacement after & vice versa.

Well, you can have both of them in the lineup at the same time, but you should probably stop taking them out for way worse hitters every time the other team puts in a left handed reliever.

Hancock throws a gem of a quality start.

Offense sleepwalks through the game.

Miller threw a meatball slider first pitch to every hitter he faced and they all just looked at it. 🤷‍♂️

Goodbye Vedder cup. Padres just took 4 of the 6 games we play this year. :(

You've got to wonder about the morale of the dugout. These guys are down there trying to win games and get rewarded by the team's best homer artist, on track for 40, getting taken out almost every game.

And once again we have either Joe or Refsnyder taking probably the most crucial AB in the game because Raley was taken out earlier due to matchups.
Bro goes into every game knowing he'll be gone by the 6th. Never seen anything like it.

I'm not a Julio fan. If he's your best player, you aren't winning anything.
Julio isn't super star level but he had 4 dingers in the playoffs last year. Yikes that RBi count is awful though. Raley has more RBI and he barely plays! Lol

I would feel better without the musical chairs platoon in the important parts of the game. If we lose with our best shot it is what it is, but we finish the game with AAA players and back ups when it counts most.
It just wouldn't be a Jerry DiBozo roster without silly platoons

Right. That's exactly what I'm saying. And then they're hitting in the same part of the order, so their obsession with "Handed-ness" gets them both pulled at the same time.

Gilbert frickin sucks & so do the M's. Down 5 runs to a team that absolutely cannot score & to a mediocre pitcher. This is pathetic.

Fourth inning & already time to go do something else. Another series loss. This team is going to spend 2/3 of the year just trying to get to .500

Yeah but they were only 8 outs away from the WS last year though 🙄
They were average for most of last year. They had a couple winning streaks. Same as last year, they can't manufacture runs. Their "superior" starter gets beat on the regular by a random scrub.

Another disappointing series loss. Gilbert does 7 innings, but struggles, giving up 7 runs.

Offense scratched 4 runs together, but too little too late.

Funny how they can't win at home now.

They rode the wave a healthy Polanco and vibes from Geno. Both who are not on the team anymore. They kept Naylor but it's not enough. Last year's team post trade deadline was better than this current team. And as much as a I like Young, he's not hitting homers.

My point is one good playoff run and it was “expected” by a large group of our fan base that because of that we’ve somehow “arrived”…

Doesn’t work that way in any sport, starts with ownership and hiring talented people to run the organization.

We have been completely inept at this concept since 1977, sure we’ve had fleeting moments of success as every other team has…

Great ball park and food though. That’s always been enough for this city.

I went to the game last night. The team doesn’t even care

They were as close to the World Series last year as they were to missing the playoffs entirely

I understand you're just venting, but this is easily the dumbest sentiment that exists among sports fans. Playoff appearances and good talent acquisitions don't just happen by accident.
