Ultimately the biggest loss from last years team was Kubiak. We have a new rather unproven offensive coordinator. It's really quite obvious we had to pick Price when you consider all this.

MM will always be able to unlock gems on defense but the priority is keeping the offense productive next year, if the running game was off, everyone on this board would be slamming JS and MM for not prioritizing the position in the offseason if they were going to let KW walk, ESPECIALLY if Charbs is out most of the season. This was the right pick when everything is analyzed objectively.

That’s a naive take. He didn’t start because of who played RB1 for Notre Dame. The RB selected #3 overall today. The best pure football player in the entire draft.

He’s an RB1 anywhere else in the country. He remained loyal to ND, finished his degree there, and didn’t complain about playing time and made big plays when his number was called.

I’m disappointed by people with bad takes that clearly didn’t bother to understand the situation they complained about.
I know who was starting ahead of him. I don't love the pick. Simple as that. I hope he does great though.

I'm fine with this.

Saw the presser with JS and MM and the feeling was that they tried to trade down but couldn't so they had to get Price.

It's all good.

The old me would be all over the doubters. But....no thanks. You either dig a pick or you don't. This is the NFL Draft, no matter what John did, plenty of people wouldn't like it. I suspect it's no different in any fanbase. To each his/her own. Love the pick.

Anyone wondering about this pick needs to go the www.seahawksdraftblog.com and watch Rob Statton’s instant reaction which is lengthy but worth watching. Truly puts the pick in an understandable perspective. Disagree or not.

Those of you who don't like this pick need to remember something important: the Rams used the 13th pick in this draft on Ty Simpson and that's really, really funny.

Additionally, everyone who likes this pick should also remember that.
Yeah.

Imagine losing in the NFC Championship Game and then following that up with drafting Ty f'n Simpson. :ROFLMAO:

I still think some will act like this was settling. I suspect MANY teams try to trade down, we just don't hear about it. They have a need at RB. They got a hell of a good one.
yeah. This wasn't settling at all.

I think John wanted to get an additional pick to go along with eventually drafting Price but other teams went absolutely nuts in dealing picks left and right to the point where he didn't find any takers for #32.

Getting Price was the Main goal and that's what was done.

There's still going to be plenty of good players available in the 2nd round though tomorrow (or is that today since it's 1:23 am in the morning here where I am? )

My issue isn't specifically with Price, I dont like the pick because I dont like this draft. This draft feels light on top end talent and heavy on depth pieces. Sure there will be some hidden gems, but after about pick 20 today, no one felt like a must take talent. If Price was in either last years draft or likely next years, chances are he would be a true day 2 pick.

Secondly, maybe its dumb luck, or maybe John has a 1000 IQ. But I get the feeling there is a reason why Seattle kept only 4 picks in this draft and has the potential to have as many as 12 in next year's, which is preliminary viewed as loaded. I also believe they tried to trade the 1st, just not many buyers left as everyone ahead of us already sold.
