He's been pretty good so far this season. He's got the most hits, most runs, most stolen bases, 2nd highest OBP, and 3rd highest BA on the team. And no, his numbers aren't just good by M's standards. They're just good.

That said, I agree that he's overrated in general. He made a big name for himself by having one of the best postseasons in baseball history with the Rays in 2020, but over the course of his entire career he's been a pretty good player, but certainly not a great one.
He's terrible in the OF & he fails repeatedly to get the runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs, although that seems to be a team issue.

And Logan Gilbert just continues to struggle to complete FIVE innings. He's always working very hard during his 4 innings & 90 pitches. He was formerly their #1, but clearly now he's struggling. He's the guy they need to move, definitely can't extend that contract. It could just be mental at this point & a change of scenery might help.

They need to do that.. consistently.. and then we bring up Emerson and shuttle Rivas somewhere else.. Hopefully Miller comes back full form and then deadline trade Castillo.. for... something?

The guy that needs to be replaced is Luis Rivas. He does nothing well. He makes me wish that Dylan Moore was still a Mariner. Not a good thing.

Leo Rivas is a backup IF that's only playing because of injuries. He was actually quite decent in that role last year, and got on base at a really high rate, but yeah, he's been bad so far this season.

Hopefully Donovan can get healthy and stay healthy so we don't need to be playing backups so much.

Rivas does come up with some clutch hits though. Decent backup, but every day, nah. Doesn't hurt to have a versatile backup. But I don't care if they keep him or not. This team needs Donovan, big time. And he can play outfield when Colt comes up. DH from time to time. He's more of a 2B, but Cole isn't losing his spot, imo. Or at least he shouldn't. At least Donovan could play 2B if Dan wants to give Cole a day off or have him at DH from time to time.

Couldn't agree more with what someone said earlier, time to move Brash into the closer role for a bit here.

If we can just have an offense every day that scores 8 runs instead of 1 we shouldn't have a need for a closer.
