Probables:
Need a get right series.
Need a get right series.
So if we get swept, fire the coach?
Yes, seeing a manager lead a team close to a World Series and then get fired a month into the following season because of a slow start, would certainly attract potential managers to this organization. And I don’t want to hear about last year. Denver lost to the Seahawks in the SB, fired their coach and won the whole thing two years later. The Seahawks lost in crushing fashion, held on to an underperforming coach for a decade, fired said coach, won the SB two years later.
If you know the coach won’t get you to the promised land, firing him should absolutely be on the table.
I couldn't believe he went home.Wow, that was a super close play at the plate.![]()
He 's not that dumb.. someone is giving him bad advice and he's listening to it.... he needs to just be a manager and do HIS thingThis team won’t be competitive again with Dan Wilson. He doesn’t know what he’s doing
But “we were only 8 outs away from the World Series” last year. We had our opportunity and blew it, let’s not kid ourselves here. Pretty entitled to just assume “we’ve arrived” with this franchises past history staring us all in the face.
I seem to remember a team that won 116 games and was on a verge of a dynasty with multiple championships…never happened then either.
All good points…problem is they’ve never been a front runner, and the difference between last year and this year is there’s added pressure because of it. This looks and feels much different than last year already, we’ve won one series. One step forward two steps back. There were a lot of very valid reasons to believe this team would be very good this year. It's not like that belief was based on nothing but blind homerism. I don't think entitlement has anything to do with it.
Vegas had the Mariners with the 3rd best odds of winning the WS on opening day, so it obviously wasn't just M's fans that thought they would be good.
And FYI, there are 141 games remaining. They look absolutely terrible so far, but things can and do change pretty drastically over the course of a really long season. Things weren't looking too good for the M's as late as early September last year. They were coming off a 1-6 stretch before they went on something like a 18-1 run to win the division and secure the 2 seed in the AL.
I totally get that people are sick of hearing "it's early", but the fact is, it is early. Again, there are 141 games remaining. That's a really, really long ways to go.
For me its the lineup.. the constant rotations... like... RF/DH by committee is NOT working. (Keep Raley RF, Dom DH, and swap it when needed, and Cal when Garver catches)There were a lot of very valid reasons to believe this team would be very good this year.
