I totally blame my brother for this 😂 I told him to never buy Jerseys of players that aren’t lifetime Seahawks or Seahawks legends. He bought a Bobo jersey last season. Bye Bye Bobo. He bought a Chris Carson Jersey years ago. Bye Bye Carson.
All my Jerseys are Seahawk HOFers and or legends. I only bought one that was stupid. Boulware many years ago. I never made that mistake again.

I currently have Jones, Largent, Easley, Kennedy, Chancellor, Wilson and the 12 fan. I need more. I’m thinking about finding a vintage Zorn#10 because I just love Jim Zorn. I also want a 24 Lynch and possibly a 25 Sherman and a 54 Wagner because I believe both are future HOFers.

I just got off the phone with my brother and begged him not to curse players by buying their Jerseys too soon. 😂

I just saw that BoBo is staying so he lucked out this time.

Yeah, he was clutch the 6 games he was inactive and really kept the bench warm.

I fully admit his TD in the NFCCG was awesome but I literally can't remember a single other play he made for this team that wasn't in the pre-season.
Looks like someone in the front office sees him differently.

If this were Japan, those of you that said we shouldnt match would be expected to commit sudoku out of shame.
Huh? Just because the seahawks *did* match it doesn't mean we *should* have. That's like saying every draft pick will be a success because we wouldn't draft someone to *not* be a success. It's a hefty price for a guy who didn't do anything last year. I would've wished Bobo good luck with the Jags.

I’ll take Schneider and Macdonald’s opinions on this but thx

Players are worth more than their general "Drafted" position.. a massive ST contributor , Blocker in the run game... for someone who knows the system and has work ethic 2.3 a year is chump change in todays NFL

Do you have suggestions on who could do this job with the same consistency and existing knowledge plus locker room vibe for the same price?

I get you. It's a lot to pay for a WR6 who might not have made the team if normal circumstances had played out. Even when STs are taken into account it's probably about $800K per year more than the Seahawks wanted to pay. Then again the Seahawks wasted money on Shenault in 2024 and Valdes-Scantling in 2025. Schneider likes depth chart WRs who play STs. Again, I get you, but I also get why other members don't and why they won't like your opinion(s). For what it's worth I wouldn't have matched the Jaguars offer.

I was fine with or without Bobo.

Without Bobo, I was kind of fantasizing that they’d ask Arroyo to slim down 10-15 pounds (239-244) and play more snaps as a big X and big slot where he’d might be somewhere between a bigger, stronger, faster, less agile Jake Bobo or a less athletic, less explosive DK Metcalf with potentially better hands and smoother routes type of WR. While taking less snaps in-line especially as a blocker because I don’t know if I can see another rep where he’s throwing his body into defenders, head first and head down, while still being big enough to help out at TE in case of a big injury especially if its Barner.

With Bobo, I can also still hold onto hope that Arroyo could be a key part of a trade package that could get the Seahawks, Devon Achane from the Dolphins. Something like 43 for 32, 87 for 64, Arroyo + Haynes and 1 or 2 of McIntosh, Jones, Akers, or Wright to give Miami some interim legs.

Lot of mock trades Ive been seeing for Achane have ultimately been for 2nd, 3rd, 4th/5th round picks with subtracting some of those picks for players.

So, realistically I feel that would be close: As the loss of draft selection value should be close to a 2nd rounder, Arroyo minus 1 year of service is like a 3rd rounder (and Miami has need for receiving weapons plus a long-term TE and they would get one that not only grew up in Orlando but went to College in Miami), Haynes minus 2 years of service is like a 5th round pick (and they have holes at guard and a change of scenery and an opportunity with lesser burden of expectations could help Haynes find better traction and get going in the right direction.)

Ultimately, I see retaining Bobo and perhaps avoiding the premise of judging a player solely in a vacuum of production as:

1) Rewarding a hard-working consummate team player willing to do whatever is asked of him, and one that probably has more hidden value in the class room and on the practice field than what he’s shown in live games in limited opportunities.

2) Retaining a guy who embodies both your culture and character ethos as well as keeping around a fan favorite and probably just as well equally liked/loved by coaches and players and whatever external/internal value and vibes that might stem from keeping him around rather than just letting him go.

Less debatable than big name receivers for sure.

I do think he is a very good ST’er and blocks really well for a receiver.

His TD in the playoffs might have been Kubiak playing mind games with McVay (i.e., Bobo is in, it’s a run).

Whatever the case, I would’ve been fine either way.

Must say I’d miss the name ‘Bobo’ though.

Top Billin' was opining that the Seahawks are holding Bobo hostage; he probably would have gotten more playing time with the Jags and caught more passes and that the Seahawks are essentially holding his career back because there are so many receiving options ahead of him. Also, that at this point in Kupp's career he is bringing much the same thing to the table that Kupp is, for a lot less cash.

I can't disagree with that too much.

I don't buy that. Bobo could have waited until his unrestricted free agency next year, if he was so intent on leaving. He knew this was a possibility when he signed that offer. Also, this is a reasonable organization. If he REALLY wants out, he and his agent could have communicated that to Schneider, and he probably would have let him go.

The Jags have a decent amount of receiving options too, between Meyers, Washington, and Thomas. Not like he'd be starting there either.

I completely agree with this. Over the weekend, I imagined a conversation where they called him or his agent and asked what this was really about. I.e., we want you on the team so if it's money, we got you. If the Jags promised more playing time, we understand and won't hold you back. I was also surprised how relatively deep the Jags were at WR so thought it was a coin flip how this would play out.
