I could see his point if it hit Charbs in the hands but what are the chances of another lateral never reaching the intended receiver & hitting a defensive player in the side of the head & bouncing up in the air & forward where it almost gets intercepted & ends up rolling in the endzone where it's picked up for a 2 point conversion?

I doubt we need a special rule to make sure this never happens again.

He's gotta stop acting like this was a Kenny Stabler situation where the Seahawks purposely fumbled it forward out of total desperation & is in need of a new rule or clarification. The actions of the defense, as unlikely as they were, ended up being responsible for the ball ending up going forward & into the endzone where it was recovered for the 2 points.

They would have to get rid of the backward pass then. Ultimately that was the rule and once deemed a backward pass it became a live ball. It's not the fault of the Seahawks or the NFL that the Rams staff can't read a rulebook. McVay is probably trying to get punt returns changed since they can't defend well against those either.

The ONLY reason the whiny Lambs have notified the league that they will be proposing a rule change for this play is... to WHINE.

Any respect I had left for McVay is gone…this is a complete loser move by the Rams. It feels like they’re trying to plant the flag of victory in that game regardless of the actual outcome. Move the F@&$ on! You lost!

Orlando, FL...for good.
Sounds like McVay wants the rules reviewed before every game, cause he's been around the NFL for a long time and never heard of it, never new a backward pass could be recovered as a live ball. IT's stupid, had it benefited him, he would have been fine with it.
My thoughts exactly, he's only whining because it happened against him. While I still have significant respect for his abilities, I really hate him in all other ways now. I feel like the 2025 season has revealed who he is as a person, and he seems to be about as nice of a guy as Steve Jobs was.

1 I didn't hear any whistle
2 Any Ram player could have picked up the ball
3 Watch the clip of the young Steeler Kick off returner during our game, he let the ball go,our player dropped on it for a TD... moral? Know the f'n rules, your the bloody coach.
4 The officials got the ruling correct, yes it took awhile but the correct call was ultimately made. They would have done it for you McVay.
5 What, and how would they change the rule?... Perhaps you can give them some insight.

As a fan who has gotten used to the 49'ers being the whiney baby-girls of the division for decades, it seems unfair that the Rams want to replace them in that role. Even the talking heads on television are beginning to refer to the Rams as the Seahawks primary rivals, which just isn't right. The best thing we can do is ignore McVey and the Rams (but play them very seriously) - they are cyclical and will fade away.

I'm interested in what change they propose. The day after that game, McVay was harping on the notion that "once the conversion is denied, the play is over". Which is ridiculous, considering an extra point kick being blocked does not end the play.

I've also seen suggestions that the fumble/continuing action/clear recovery rules shouldn't apply on a 2 point conversion.....which is ridiculous and I don't think the rules committee will want to carve out an exception that will simply cause more confusion.

I think the one legit concern is, why did the Fox rules analyst calling New York trigger a review of the play? But I think the problem is the opposite of what the Rams think is the problem. I answer that with "it was clearly the correct call, and it was a scoring play. Why did New York wait until the Fox analyst call to properly review the play?"

And then McPOS with that little pos smirk like he's thinking "It's ok, they'll help us out later in the game like they did back when we were handed a SB birth vs. the Saints"
