Insane graphic I saw of the last sale price of each team… some of these are equivalent to a Louisiana Purchase in return! The Bears for $100, the Giants for $500, Steelers for $2500, and even the Chiefs in 1960 for $25k…

This news will definitely have an impact on us resigning our free agents. Big long term contracts will probably have to wait until the new owner. Not going to put those numbers on the books if they can help it. Good thing Smith Ngigba and Spoon are protected for another two years. Yes this happens every time a team is put up for sale. The purse strings will close tightly.

Not this year, but next year, expect the price of tickets to go up a large amount. 7+ billion, the new owner is going to want returns on his investments

The new owner will be wanting a new tax payer paid stadium. Does not mean the team is moving, no, but our stadium is pushing 25 years old, and there are so many new billion dollar stadiums out there, the new owner will want one too especially after shelling out 7+ billion. We may think we have the best stadium in the league but he will think it is not good enough for his billionaire friends. Once again he may not get what he wants but he will push for it.

We all knew this was going to happen. Jody needed to wait for a clause in the agreement with the State to expire in 2025 before she would put it up for sale

Lumen Field is considered one of the best Stadiums in the country and has gone through several renovations to keep up with the Joneses of the NFL

that don’t mean shit

I have seen some really nice stadiums get torn down to satisfy greedy billionaires

I do believe the lease in our present stadium with the Seahawks doesn’t expire until 2031

Like what? Because I guarantee you none of them were as remotely as good as Lumen

You're a naughty one Hawkula!
I'm just remembering the whole thing playing out where they started loading trucks and tried moving the team to California. People laying in front of the trucks. I was going nuts! If they could do that to the Sonics then it could happen to the Seahawks.

in 1979 all I wanted for my birthday was a round Seahawks garbage can. It was white and had the helmet on it. I almost cried when I got it, a garbage can. I'm not the only one who is passionate about this team. No one is taking our team away, no one. I will burn it all down before that happens. Global fire 🔥. 200

Seen Balmers and Cubans name associated, no to Bezos and Trump, well may as well kept Behring.

Sad day for me, we had a ride with the Allens, great owners and thank you again for saving the Seahawks!

RIP Kathi Goertzen !
Kathi Goertzen always brought me pure joy whenever I caught her on the TV. Not even on no horndog teenager shit. Her and the gorgeous Joyce Taylor! Ok, Joyce could have caught a thrashing, not even gon' ATTEMPT to front. 😂

I feel like some people think being an ultra billionaire means the salary cap won't apply to them. Even if it did mean that, there's no shortage of evidence that having more money doesn't mean a willingness to spend more of their personal funds on business. I'd be very careful wanting an owner who has apparently no hobbies other than making money.

Not necessarily, Paul had provisions for Stadium maintenance and upgrade, why it is still rated one of the best game day stadium experiences. Stadium is not in decay. Just built 25 years ago.

Maybe Schneider can get a good loan
I woke up in a cold sweat. Kidding. But thinking a new owner means JS will have a new boss is scary. Having a new boss can go really bad. They may want their own GM or JS just doesn’t jive with the new owner. Please lord not the group Russ is involved in, he would screw everything up.

I'd hope no one actually thinks this about the cap not applying at all, but there ARE some cash poor owners that have or have had some trouble with ponying up large bonuses for marquee free agents that require guarantees and a significant percentage of the contact paid up front. The organizations with cash rich owners have had an easier time circumventing the spirit of the salary cap and using it to their advantage.

This is a significant advantage with a tangible on-field effect.
