rewatch the week one game....you mean the one where the whiners scored 17? Yes, it was a loss for us in the first game with a new QB and new OC. And yes, Pearsall had 100 yards. But the whiners offense still only scored 17.....and that was their highest score in three games against us. Last year the whiners did well against our D prior to our bye week, where we traded for Ernest Jones and we improved dramatically for the second half of the season. The second game last year the whiners scored 20. In 2023 the whiners scored 19 against a Macdonald coached defense in Baltimore. It's not just about "we were so banged up".

In general, Shanahan's offense has struggled against Macdonald's defense. And based on the pre-Super Bowl interview with Shanahan, he doesn't disagree.
Yeah, given that the average NFL team scores 22-23 points per game, bragging about running up 17 points on us seems a little lame.

Yeah, but their team is a piece of work with nothing to look forward to in their future. They are aging, they have no receivers. Their Defense is slow, the support plalyers are bad, and Cap space is bad.

Unless Lynch can pull rabbits out of his..they are on a the bad side of a slippery slope. and you know. I just don't care.

Apples and oranges. The Seahawks D on opening day in September was not the same Seahawks D we saw in December and January. You should know that.
He does.

He just doesn't want to admit it.

I never said it will be.

The whole argument here is that the Niners look like a team whose window of opportunity is closing. With rare exceptions like the Patriots, teams only have a 3-5 year window during which they are serious contenders for a Lombardi. You can't deny that the Niners have that look about them, given their age, low draft positioning, and competitive nature of their division. That's not trash talking, it's just making an informed observation.

I realize that I may have a bias POV, but I think we've witnessed a changing of the guard. The Hawks are not only the defending SB champs, but they are going to be a force to be reckoned with for the next 3-4 years.
I agree that the Seahawks will be a force to reckon with for years to come and that there defense and MacDonald will be the cornerstone for a multi year run. They are the team to beat until proven otherwise

I have faith that the 49ers will be in the mix because they have reinvented themselves before .

The 2019 team was drastically different than the 2023 team. Staley was replaced by Williams. The recovering core was different . The RBs were different, there was no CMC. Garopollo was replaced by Purdy

There was no deforest Buckner . The secondary was completely different .

In fact about 80 percent of the roster was different

I think Shanahan was the key thing that was the same along with some key pieces such as Kittle, Bosa, Warner, Greenlaw , Juice , Deebo

The 49ers will bring in personnel to match what the Seahawks are doing . When you are the lead dog, teams will scheme and sign players to beat you

Just like what the Seahawks have done with MacDonald to match what McKvay and Shanahan have been doing

Look at the week one WR core. They were signing guys off the street. Demarcus Robinson was suspended and a few of the rookies got injured in camp and were way behind

The 49ers trusted that Aiyuk was going to come back mid season to be a key piece . That obviously didn’t happen, but this will be the number one point of emphasis this offseason .

They didn’t have anyone that could separate and threaten the Seahawks secondary. This made them one dimensional

I think 2 years, 3 is a stretch. Things change. I dont know our coaches ability to adapt that much yet. So we shall see. Our base group is pretty strong tho.

They've re-invented themselves before, but they can't get over the hump. It's been 31 years since the Niners won a Lombardi.

If they were smart, they'd start planning for 2-3 years down the road. I don't think they're going to be relevant in 2026. They're not going to be able to compete with us next season. You can rationalize those two-ass kicking's all you want, but the fact is that right now, there's a big gap between the Niners and Hawks.

That was the problem in Pete Carroll's last 5-6 years with us. He kept thinking he was just a player or two away from being a legitimate SB contender when in reality, his teams were mediocre.

They can't get over the hump, because their drafting since 21.has been awful.
