Anyone have any insight?

They ruled it an interception not a Sack/fumble.

I’ve looked at it a few times and not seeing it, hard to say that his arm was going forward.

Does not have an impact on the game score but it did take away a record tying performance by our Defense.

Left a sack and we tie the SB sack record.

IIRC it was originally ruled a sack, but changed a few plays deeper into the game.

Yes as he was falling he threw ball forward (very small) right into Chennas chest.

Best view here is around 0:50. I don't think that was a forward pass. Very close though as to whether arm was moving forward or if the ball traveled forward.

If you slow it down x2 in you can see his arms going forward barely but it was (here you can see it forward )

This happens from time to time where they change the ruling on calls like these.

His arm was moving forwards just enough to call it a pass. If it had hit the ground it would have been ruled incomplete, after they let the fumble play out. :)

Since it was caught, it didn't matter if it was a forward pass or not. Since it didn't hit the ground it was advanceable, straighten out the minor stats later.

It was very close. We can just be thankful it didn’t hit the floor. My general view when it’s bang bang is that they have to be called fumbles (obviously this is not in the rule book). On the replays it seems clear to be the pass isn’t being thrown until the ball is impacted by Spoon (ie it’s still in the grasp) and therefore a fumble feels more accurate.
It was a call I wouldn’t expect to be overturned by the replay booth.
