I don't know what Woolen means by "blackout." It could mean that he was in such a hyped-up mental state that he lost his perspective, didn't realize that he's in a football game and not a street fight. Even if that's what he meant, I still don't buy that as an excuse.

Only time will tell if he's serious or not.
Yeah, mean that he stopped them..(finally) He was pretty hyped about it.. #3 and Love(?) were there, probably should have dragged his arse out of there... that said, more I look at it, the more stupid the refs flagging it as a penalty.. Then the Ram guy who blitzes and tackles Sam, nothing, even though he was throwing his ass into Sams face.

Yeah, that really made it a LOT worse, imo. Dude is doing an air f*** for like 7 or 8 seconds, NO CALL. Come on Refs. Reek's was the right call, but give me a fricken break, that needs to be a 15 yard penalty. Or the Rams defender pushing Sheed in his back with BOTH HANDS when the ball is in the air. I don't care if it was "uncatchable" that's flat-out PI. NO CALL.

Yeah. I mean Riq was an idiot but the refs needed to be at least be consistent in the Taunting penalties!!

Also that Non-PI call involving Shaheed was textbook bullshit.

I wanted so bad for someone to kick Kinchen's in the balls right there.

That's not the same as me saying "He sucks" or something.
Except it's implied strongly, especially in the context of the thread.

My old boss used to say "don't piss on my foot and tell me it's raining". Thinking this applies aptly.

Someone said the refs said it was uncatchable, but I didn't see the hand over the head from the ref on that. Either wasy, it was total BS.
There's a picture out there of the ball hitting Shaheed right on the top of the helmet which proves it's BS.

The Refs really did their best to give the game to the Rams.

They announced it over the mics during the game.

It's pretty hard to pass judgement on taunting calls as we don't know what it was that the player's said. In Woolen's case, the ref was trying to direct him away from the Ram's bench, but Woolen kept going, which is likely one of the reasons why the ref decided to toss the flag.

I honestly think that the way Mac and Co handled this situation with Woolen will turn a negative into a positive. They made Woolen bare his soul in front of the team, and that should bring the entire team closer together and be a not-so-subtle message to everyone to keep their cool or else....

The fact that Macdonald has brought them this far in such a short period of time has to be building a tremendous amount of credibility with the players, that he's earning their respect. I get the impression that this is quite a bit different style than what Pete had.

I can't find a clip showing the camera angle I saw during the game, but when the ref guided Woolen away from the Rams sideline and he went back to jaw some more, I saw a Rams player AND a coach telling the ref to throw the flag....that's when the ref decided to throw it.
It was during a replay from what looked like a camera down the sideline, showing the ref directing him back to the field, and Riq heading back. Ref didn't throw the flag until the coach and player were up in his face.
No excuse for Woolen but I mentioned it to my son who was watching the game with me.
