Me too. The Patriots play in a division that made them play against the number 29 and number 25 defense twice a year (the jets and the dolphins). They also play the number 4 offense (the bills). Nine of the opponents they faced (in 11 games) were so bad they fired their coaches.

The Seahawks are in a division with the number 1 and number 10 offense (LA and SF respectively), with the worst team at #23 in points scored.

All due respect and all that, but the idea that the Seahawks faced below average QBs is pretty silly.

This graphic says it all :

Current D Stats

We just played the leagues #1 offense….so, the Pats lead us in one category (barely). Had we played the Donkeys…oh my.

Yeah. THAT would've been a purely defensive battle for sure, though we would have the massive edge at QB considering it would've been Stidham. (hell, we would've still had the better QB even if Bo Nix was healthy)

Only if it fits YOUR narrative.
I’d say it doesn’t given their winning 16 of the past 17. Any more than Seattle’s losses matter.

NE was missing a few key guys for a month near the end of the season, but they’re pretty much all back. Although now we’re hearing that Maye’s on the injured list.

I think this will be a defensive Super Bowl, 23-20 type of game. Bet the under. Many punts and field goals, and any turnovers critical. It’s not gonna be a track meet.

Maye will play. Doesn't matter if he's on the list.

I imagine no one on either side will be "taking a seat" for the SuperBowl unless they are really hurt.

Red Zone and 3rd-down Defense is going to be a problem for the Pats against the Hawks.

Your team lost to the Raiders...I don't care if it's week 1. It's the Raiders and they only won 3 games all season. Let that sink in.
The Super Bowl champion 2011 Giants (to the second worst team in the league) and the 2003 Patriots (to a 6 win team) had double digit losses in their first games. Did not stop them from rolling through the playoffs against good teams.

The RedZone offense and Third Down offense in the playoffs have been stark in difference between the two teams.

Whereas the Pats became worse in the playoffs, the Seahawks improved.

Very good sign for us; not a good sign for them.

I rewatched the AFC championship game. Dudes walked into halftime with 7 points due to a late turnover by the Broncos on a very short field.
And...that was it. F7ck the FG.

Sure, there was snow which explains the entire second half of suckery.

Pats have NO idea what they're about to face in a full 4 quarters of 'this ain't an AFC team you're facing'. It's gonna be epic!

And they are claiming to now being an elite defense based on two snow games against teams missing their best offensive player.

I really don't understand how anyone that truly understands the game can throw out the difference in strength of schedule. Yes it MATTERS. A lot. I'm not going to waste time citing the stats as they've been mentioned. The Hawks are far more battle tested at this point and it's not close. Patriots have a solid team and solid coaches and no one should really debate that. But I'll take the battle hardened team over the team that wasn't any day of the week when it comes to a game of this magnitude.

NE faced and beat most of the top defenses in the league, even though some of those teams didn’t have winning records. They beat Buffalo and Tampa on the road when both of those teams were playing well. They’re 3-0 in the playoffs and 9-0 on the road. They’re top 5 in just about everything. But yeah, some of the teams they beat had very poor winning percentages so the SOS is low.

I took a look at twitter(x) and it's hilarious how many Pats fans are saying that the Hawks don't have anyone other than JSN for Darnold to throw to and all they have to do is double him and Sam will start throwing interceptions. 🤣

Oh and some others are saying that they expect Gonzalez to cover Cooper Kupp and I'm like : "Oh? So who is going to cover Rashid Shaheed?"

What a bunch of dumbasses.
