me personally, i think they're the best DUO we could want for a RB combo. They balance each other out where they're weak. Ie Charb can pass block, Walker no to much, Charbs like you said north and south, Walker outside. Charbs steady grind, Walker big play burst.
Outside Holani.. idk who else can remotely fill Charbs role to compliment Walker. MAYBE Akers?... Velus Jones in Chicago was swapped to RB then was released and bounded around the league for a few yrs. Wasnt all that impressive in college tbh either. So im intrigued in what they do here.

Agree 💯

When used properly they are a power duo. They compliment each other beautifully. It sucks that we lost Charbs. Out of what we have I think Holani is probably the best Charbs clone but I don’t know if he’s actually ready to play right now. If we can elevate both Akers and Jones this week that would be helpful but I’m not sure if they’ll go that route or sign one of them to the active roster. We do need to spaces for guys we already have coming back from IR (Arroyo and Surratt)

I feel bad for Charbs. Because it's so late into the season its going to affect his next season too which really sucks for him. He was breaking out into a set role for the Seahawks....

Holani would be my choice, and he is eligible to come off IR.

Charbs got most of the carries in the redzone. Especially on the goaline. Only makes sense he is going to have more tds.
Yeah, no shit. You think it was just to be nice to Zach or because it was the option coaches discovered to be best chance at the 6pts? I would wager the latter but I'm open to being convinced otherwise

Except we have had a lot of issues in the red zone so I don’t really consider that a positive for Charbonnet. And yes I do like the guy. The main difference between the two is their style. Many seem to think that you can only hit the home and go and those guys are the ones screaming to cut Walker when he gets tackled for a loss. Charbs is a good north and south runner. Walker is a great outside runner.

Walker will break more big plays and Charbs will be more steady.

People have their preferences but to say Charbs is our best running back when he statistically isn’t deserves to be called out
I gotta feeling we're saying the same thing, now, but I have a migraine so it's gucci

Sure, they compliment each other, but their talents overlap enough that changing them in and out doesn't telegraph the play that is coming. That's a key aspect of their value.

My brother just texted me and said told me that Dan Viens said Holani is healthy and was a last minute decision not to dress Saturday. I’m guessing he’ll be ready this weekend. 👍
VERY WELCOME news.

I want him in there not just as a RB but as a PASS-BLOCKER.

If we take Holani off IR, can we also activate Arroyo?

He hasn’t even been designated to practice yet. There’s no way he was going to play without at least practicing first. I’m not saying that Viens is talking out of his butt, but I guarantee that they will bring him back to practice before he plays. Even if it’s just one or two practices.

Macdonald was asked about Holani today. He was wary of answering anything with much specificity but he did say that we should hear more in the coming days.

My guess here is that Holani may be designated to practice this week and they’ll make a decision on whether to activate him or not later on the week.

If there is even a chance that Holani is eligible to play, I think MacDonald WILL put him out there.

We need someone who will be able not just to spell Walker in the running game but someone who can pass-block 'cause Walker can't, Velus does not have much (if any) experience doing it, and putting Outz out there would be too obvious that it's a pass-play.

Yes if we waive one more. This would still leave 1 IR spot open for Tory to make a shock return in the Superbowl (in my dreams)

They’ve already designated Surratt and Arroyo to practice. Assuming they both get activated as is the norm after practicing then we have one slot left and that’s likely for Holani.

I really don’t know how well of a pass blocker Holani is. I know he looked good running before his injury but can’t recall his blocking. My brother will probably say he’s great because he’s a big time Boise State homer 😂
A little bias here.

Seems to me Walker does just fine in the redzone when given a chance. Why taking my comment so personal? 🤷

I looked it up and he is a capable pass-blocker.

Not a strong suit but still is better than anyone else we have at the moment.
