I'd like to know which analysts you are referring to ? The formula has always been run the ball, and play good defense. You need a QB to convert 3rd downs and have to ability to drive the field to win the game in close contests.

Jimmy Garoppolo's 49ers proved you could win playoff games with this formula. He just did not have the clutch ability to drive the length of the field on the last drive

I watched most of the experts disregard the Texans last night. Then guess what they played defense and beat Rodgers to a pulp. I also remember an unstoppable offense versus a hellish defense in the Bowl, that games unforgettable for the ass beating that ensued and Seahawks first title.
