PC last 4 years of coaching 27-40 record.

MM last 2 years 24-10.

Things are headed in the right direction for years to come. These guys love playing for MM.

The Seahawks transition story runs a little deeper than that.

For me the first tell came from Jody Allen insisting on expanding the analytics department with the hiring of Becca Erenbaum and Peter Engler. It was an area where the Seahawks lagged behind the rest of the NFL.

Next came the replacement of a boomer head coach with a milennial head coach. I think that accelerated the transition toward embracing emerging digital tools. A side note is that boomer coaches Pete Carroll, Nick Saban and Bill Belichick all relinquished their head coaching jobs within a week of each other.

Another tell appeared with the contract extension of John Scheider. Confirming that Seahawks management was committed to completion of the organization's transition.

A recent tell appeared with the re-framing of questions from the press and interviewers along with a deliberate choice of words from Mike Macdonald. He's a good interview study. And as such, confirmation that an organization transition has been successful.

And bringing it all up to date, there was last night's championship game. Confirmation that the transition made its way to the field of play in the form of complementary football and relentless search for adjustments and improvement.

Although the brief summary above leaves a lot out, the Seahawks rapid transition story over the last 3 to 4 years has been nothing short of amazing.

Well done and well worth the journey!

I wonder how PC feels about us being 14-3 with the 1 seed and a stifling defense after just 2 years. Adds credence to the fire PC crowd for a few years.

I've always gotten the impression that PC is a very positive guy. The type of guy that roots for others to succeed. Not the type of guy that hopes others fail out of spite or whatever.

I'd guess that Pete is happy for JS and MM, and proud of his guys that are still playing for the Seahawks (and there are quite a few).

Drafted Spoon, Hall, Mafe, Bryant and Riq, and traded for Leonard Williams, along with also drafting JSN and both Charbs and Walker.

Yep. There are quite a few guys on this team that were PC guys before they became MM guys.

Pete's been gone for 2 years now, but his fingerprints are still all over this team.

We will never know what role PC played in drafting. We did well in this past draft without him and got a few gems. He went to Vegas to fix that program and that didn’t work out.

But to be fair I must admit he was a catalyst for our program becoming a force in the NFL and am grateful for that.

PC is in the rear view and last night was the best seahawks night I've had in a decade. I will enjoy it like all of us are and let's enjoy this ride as well.

Where are the idiots saying he needs to be fired as recently as early this season? Crickets from them of course
I wasn't one of them, but...

...who the **** cares? Why are we all running around beefing and bitching in each other's faces and cramming crow down each other's throats?

Perhaps I'm naive in speaking to a) humans and b) sports fans, but can't we all just celebrate the team's success? Or have you seriously spent the last four months staring at the ceiling while Schneider's haters trash the inside of your head without paying rent?

Boomer?
Millennial?

Rarely do those imply anything good, generally they are derogatory at best.
Those are terms/ labels that IMO should be left out of a conversation of this nature.

Don’t even know or care to check on who said it, but shame on whoever it was.

Just my opinion, carry on.

He's nailed the last couple of drafts and free agency. MVS is probably the only real miss.

Even crazier is the udfa's- Okada, Jobe, drake Thomas, O'Connell and other ready squad guys coming in and contributing when needed without massive drop offs.

Great post.

Question: Do you think it really began when the organization soured on Russell Wilson? I do. And I would say that probably happened around 2020, 2 years before he was traded. Pete had built around Russell and it was not really working, his skills were starting to diminish and of course all of the baggage. I say that because I think that's when Jody decided to invest in John Schneider and not Pete/Russell. It all arrives at the same point we are today, I just can't help but wonder exactly when the new course was charted and why.

The drafting success skyrocketed after John took the wheel and it was terrible during The years leading up to it.

I have some strong Pete Carroll thoughts that most will disagree with so I’ll keep them to myself lol.

JS and Macdonald are a massive win for this team though
