The raiders are shutting him down, to presumably save money on his bonuses. Looks like they should have traded him, instead of being a crap organization they continue to be year after year.

Some say it is to tank; I don't know but if his knee is bad
sometimes the team has to do it for the player.

I read somewhere else his knee has been a thing all year long so that's why he's pissed and accusations of tanking are flying around
If true , not a good look for any team and from the coach on down I'd be getting bags packed cuz nothing good ever comes from not trying
It wouldn't surprise me if crosby asks for a trade and simply won't take an offer of more money because of this and he might be a monster next year as well
Sounds like a guy I'd want on my team lol
Go Hawks

It only makes sense to shut Crosby down for the last two games. He's been nursing a bad knee all season and the games don't mean anything other than draft positioning. It's a smart move. There's always going to be accusations of tanking in a meaningless game like this one whether or not Crosby plays.

I'm surprised that the Raiders haven't fired Pete yet. They might as well get it over with so they can get a leg up on their competition to hire a new coach. I'm not sure who would want to go into that dumpster fire, though. How many head coaches have the Raiders going through over the past 15 or so years?

In another thread, someone wondered why the Raiders didn't move in LA instead of the Chargers. Simply put, the other owners didn't want that idiot Mark Davis to be screwing up the 2nd biggest market in the country.

Possible future seahawk?

If JS doesn't rate next years draft class I wonder if we pull the trigger. I imagine mafe would be gone. Not sure what it would take. 2 firsts?

Hopefully we could still get a right guard, Kupp replacement and a corner.

When I heard that the Raiders were shutting down Crosby draft position and bonuses was not the first thing that came to mind but it doesn’t make sense to have your star player that is injured to play meaningless games at the end of the season

The Raiders have done an excellent job at losing with Crosby in the lineup they will continue to lose with or without him

Says he will be out for a big part of offseason, sounds serious
enough to me and this fantasy of getting him is silly.
We have more needs than getting Crosby, we can all talk out of
ass like Stanton to create views.

I don't see Crosby coming here. He will make ~$30M the next 3 years (he's a FA in 2030), which will make him the highest paid non-QB on the field:

Darnold $33.9
Williams $29.6
Nwosu $20
Cross $17.5
Kupp $17.5

JS has called bringing in FA and making them the highest paid in their position group "a mistake" and that he won't do it again. Also, Croby's contract is fully guaranteed, so even if we did want to drop the draft capital to bring him in, that's an exposure this front office doesn't like.

People we getting giddy about the idea of Trey Hendrickson leaving Cincy preseason. Ol' Trey (31) got hurt in week 8 and in theory would be back already, but they shut him down too.

Trey was not having a good year before going on IR, so his market should be soft. But he had 17.5 sacks in 2024 AND 2023, so he might take an incentive-laden prove it deal to be on a contender.

Hendrickson be a good flyer if Mafe walks. Mafe has 1 sack this year, so he might be a bargain re-sign too...

As shoddy as the Raiders are, there is so much legitimate reasoning behind shutting him down that it's probably better to just believe they're trying to do the right thing.
It sounds like he's going to have surgery, which means he's been playing through an injury that requires surgery. Every time he goes out and plays he is probably making things worse for himself long-term.
I believe he would still be fighting to stay on the field even if he didn't have bonuses to reach, and that's honestly the kind of player who sometimes needs to have the decision taken out of his hands. Someone in the organization has to add everything up and take player and team into account and reach the conclusion that it's best to shut him down.

Crosby would be nice, but wouldn't it be better and less expensive trying to upgrade positions we need to upgrade instead of adding a bit more to something that is already a strength?
Good chance Mafe is gone in the offseason, Hall isn't anything special, and I doubt we can expect Lawrence to be this good for much longer. If Crosby can be had for a price that isn't too prohibitive, it could be a sage all-in move.

I'd rather have Mafe back for another season.
