DVOA: Seahawks vs Rams

Apparently the Seahawks have the #1 overall DVOA and the Rams are #2, but the margin is, well, marginal. Aaron Schatz, the creator of the DVOA metric system said the reason the Seahawks are ahead of the Rams is Special Teams. Both have very similar offense and defense metrics but the Rams have struggled on Special Teams. (He gives the Rams a slight edge over the Hawks offensively, and slight edge to the Hawks defensively).

A slight edge defensively? Our D is WAY MORE physical than the Rams. I don't care what the stats say, I'll take this 2025 defense over anything in the league right now. I like this 2025 defense better than the LOB years. This 2025 Hawks defense has got that 85 Bears mixed with the 2000 Ravens defense feel to it.

Looks pretty close. Rams have only given up 16 touchdowns to the Hawks 19. Yards allowed almost identical. Pass defense almost identical too. Hawks are #3 in rush defense, Clams at#9. Scoring defense: Rams #2, Hawks #5.

This game is about as evenly matched as it gets.

I don't like the Rams and they don't scare me at all. Our Hawks D is for real and it's scary AF. Darnold goes up against this D every single day in practice.

Throw all that statistic stuff out the window, division game, both teams are good, both teams dislike each other a lot for some reason. The rest of the league will watch this like a Hearns Hagler fight hoping for a split decision but a lot of damage done.
