Nice to see Haynes out there. I still have hope for the kid.

Horton with a groin, concerning, but full parcipitation is good.

Everything prettty much the same except Kupp and Horton. Kupp was limited and Horton didn’t practice.

Feels like an off on kinda thing... dont push it, but still keep them limber and not idle?

Keeping everything crossed we at least have Kupp Barner and Arroyo this week; assuming no Bobo or Horton

I did hear a rumor that Kupp will try to play....

...but I'll believe it when I see it.

It wasn’t a need. They functioned just fine last week. We were very deep at WR. What we got was a returner/receiver who adds speed to our equation. It’s not like we put a receiver on IR or cut one.

We functioned fine last week because we were playing a secondary full of corpses

Would Ricky White the 3rd be starting this week without the trade?

Not a need?

Cmon. I appreciate you sticking to your guns but that’s ridiculous

Ricky White only got 7 snaps during his call up last week. We have Chris White though and I’m perfectly fine watching him catch passes if it comes down to it.

This trade wasn’t a need, it was a luxury. I don’t understand why people have such a problem acknowledging that fact. It’s not a bad thing to upgrade a position. In fact that’s a good thing whether it’s a need or not.

It wasn't a good defense we were facing, though. And the previous two games had Darnold throwing under a 60% completion rate.

I mean, it doesn't really look to me like John and Mike thought we were fine at WR, or they wouldn't have traded for Shaheed. I know we all have the right to second-guess them for the sake of discussion and appeals to authority aren't the strongest argument, but at some point haven't they earned at least a little benefit of a doubt?

Agree to disagree....

Second highest stated WR is our TE at 260 yards, then Kupp a bit over 200.. everyone else.. half the receptions and under 200 yards in 8 games

Take Indy for instance, 600 500+ 500+ 300+ 200+ 150+ one of those being a RB (Yes he's a beast but still)

Didn't really see our WR as deep.. unless we are still counting Bobo as some kind of asset outside of a fan favorite

Not having to start Ricky White the 3rd is not a luxury😂

I get it, you’re going down swinging with your original take regarding acquiring Shaheed.

Cool

You’re wrong though 😎

See ya

Please do tell what my original take was on this trade? I’m shocked that anyone here read it since everyone seems to believe it’s negative and I’ve never said a negative thing about it.

As for Ricky White not starting being a luxury that’s a ridiculous take. I never said any such thing. I quoted the post talking about having him start and pointed out that he didn’t start and only had 7 snaps. That means he wasn’t starting so he’s not even a part of the equation. He wasn’t starting just a depth guy and still is that. This trade didn’t change anything about our receiver room except to add one to it. When you have a full room and add to it that is a luxury not a need. If we’d lost receivers for the year or if the ones we had weren’t good enough to keep around that wouldn’t be a need. This is still a luxury. Nothing wrong with it. Makes the team better but still more luxury than need

I’ve never said it was a bad trade. Only that we weren’t coming from a position of need. In fact I’ve said before that trading or drafting strictly for needs is a tough way to build a winner. When you can improve the team with a player that is not necessarily considered a need then you usually get a better deal for them. I think that’s what we did here. We saw an opportunity to improve the team without costing us a lot of capital and we did it. That’s smart.

WR was a need. My points were in support of that fact.
