Well let the man rest up, and then unleash him on the playoff run!!!... Ty Okada is improving week to week and is serviceable... it's a bummer for sure, but we are talented enough to absorb the loss.

Secondary was noticeably weak 4 weeks ago. I think "serviceable" is a good description but there has been some surprisingly good play mixed in. I have to remind myself that switching in/out players rarely fixes a problem instantly. The inexperience that's been playing over the past few games, and the noticeable improvement, is paying dividends now and will continue through the 2nd 1/2 of the season->playoffs and also helps with cap and re-signings and draft. There is still some boneheadedness, but the improvement using internal solutions gives me even more confidence this coaching staff and front office are continuously building.

@Hawkstorian probably knows specifics better than I do but I believe IR requires missing 4 consecutive games. As he’s missed the last 3 already they may be able to make it retroactive. I’m not sure how far they can go back but he should be eligible to return sooner than 4 weeks from now. Of course it matters not if he isn’t healthy.

Better than out for the season. Just sayin 🤷
Exactly.

I would rather he be 1000% healthy for the stretch run (plus the Playoffs) than risk him getting even more injured against a Non-Divisional opponent tomorrow.

Julian Love engaged in limited practice going into week 7. Wk 8 was the bye week. In my opinion Love's minimum of 4wks on injury reserve begins now. WK 13 is the earliest he can become eligible to be designated to return the roster and resume practice.

But he was inactive week 7 so I’d think they could make it retroactive to that game thus only missing 3 more games? I’m no expert that’s just my understanding.

Love was among those designated as inactive on game day. But, Love was active on the practice field on a limited bases thru out week 7 practices. The clock started when he was moved from the active roster to injured reserve ...... today.

Yeah, baseball allows retroactive IL listing, not the NFL. :(

They may not now but I know they have in recent years. I have t heard that they stopped allowing it but they might have. My understanding is they can only go retroactive back to the last game missed as long as they haven’t participated in any official practices since then. I don’t know if they held any practices over the bye week where he could have injured it further but they may have. Of course I’m open to the possibility that they don’t allow it any longer but I remember us using it in the past.

From what ive read they aren't allowing it so it will be 4 more games. Could be wrong but im reading it won't be retroactive
