Thanks for the link. That answers my question about how Fox Sports could be liable for Sanchez's actions.
You would think that if it were a company event where Sanchez got so drunk at that they would have held it at the same venue where they were housed at, ie at the hotel, or provided transportation to and from the hotel. Unless they screwed up royally and didn't do that, then the other option is that they knew or should have known that Sanchez had the propensity to get violent after he'd been drinking, which also seems to me to be pretty unlikely.
Fox is a huge company with what has to be a very large legal department, so the odds are that they are on the hook for any liability regarding Sanchez's actions seems remote to me. My opinion is that the victim's attorneys are on a fishing expedition, that the lawyers are getting a percentage cut from any settlement due to the victim, so they might as well throw a bunch of shit on the wall and maybe some of it will stick.
Sanchez had been at a bar half a block from the hotel. I’m not sure how that lessens liability on Fox, though.
