Glad he's pissed but Tampa knew how to beat us from the get go. Mayfield was at 90% completion for 15 yards a pop. They saw something during the week and exploited it. We need to fix it fast.
IMHO

They didn’t see anything during the week.

They saw it GameDay on the field.

Soft Zone Defense that was full of uncovered holes.

Baker and his OC were smart enough to exploit the situation.

Our MM didn’t change anything to fill the holes.

I’ve suggested multiple times that I believe he should have mixed in some “man” coverage AND sent a few more blitzes.

Might not have changed the ultimate outcome but at least it would have made Baker think a bit more, and possibly slowed the Buc’s offense a bit.

No offense intended.
I simply don’t believe it had anything to do with what they saw/didnt see while scouting.

Tampa played a lot of zone too to protect their DBs but Darnold was able to carve the Bucs secondary. Not surprising that Mayfield could do the same.

Truthfully when it comes down to it each game is different with a flow and that game was a shootout which is where turnovers are the often the difference.

Mike probably needs to look in the mirror on this one. After being killed over and over again, come up with something to get a stop. The only time TB had to punt is when Baker finally missed a wide open receiver on 3rd down. After that incompletion Baker was 25 of 28. Let's not forget the defensive collapse in Arizona.

When a rookie receiver, incredible or not, carves you up for 163 yards…quite a few receivers making uncontested catches….

We obviously miss Love and Spoon but there was a lot of empty space in our zone.

I trust MM to fix it.

Needs to look in the mirror?

Did you see his post game press conference?

Ho owned 100% of the loss.

If you haven’t seen it, you should take a look.

It was one of those days. And hopefully JUST one of those days. Defensive front couldn't get pressure, ILB's had a bad day in coverage, and the DB's had a bad day in coverage and couldn't tackle. Hard to believe they are that bad even if they were a little over-hyped.

It almost seems like The Seahawks lost on purpose. Coach Mike didn't make ANY adjustments on Defense at all.

The coach blamed himself for poor preparation and poor plays calls on defense Sunday against Tampa Bay (4-1). He blamed himself for not calling the right plays to get more pressure on Mayfield. The Seahawks didn’t touch the quarterback until 8 minutes remained in the game. That was on a safety blitz by D’Anthony Bell.

This is all I'm going to say and I'll drop it after this. HOPEFULLY IT DOESN'T TAKE 2 OR 3 GAMES LIKE THIS TO LEARN. That was my biggest issue with PC besides accountability. LEARN from your mistakes and DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN! Playing zone too much and letting Baker shred your D almost ALL GAME LONG and nothing changed? And NOW you're pissed? Not going to hold a grudge or anything but I'm sick of hearing things like "We gotta learn from this", or "Gosh darnit we gave it our best and it wasn't good enough" and "The Hawks needed a wake-up call" from the LAST coach, I don't want to feel deja vu.

Once again, I really hope he meant the quoted stuff above and steers away from last game's mistakes for the rest of the season.

During the broadcast they mentioned that Macdonald's father is about to get a kidney transplant. It could have been affecting Macdonald. We're only human.

IMO, we’ve got an incredible coach. One that doesn’t strike me as a guy that’ll just fit back and not fix things. Like, really fix.

Especially on the defensive side of the ball. He was already chewing folks out about missed tackles during the game. Egbuka’s 163 yards is probably giving him nightmares.

Going to go out on a limb here but, I don’t think we’ll be seeing a ton more 30+ point games from our opponents.

I get that. We missed a few of our best players…especially in the defensive backfield.

It wasn’t just player performance though. Player performance is Riq not contesting a pass when he’s in position.

Schematic wise, there were some serious issues and may have been the biggest contributor to all of the uncontested catches in that last game.
