Week 5 Power Rankings

I never got into the power rankings, but it's good to see the seahawks in the top 10 again...

I never really bought into them either.

I thought they were really precise and found great value in them from like late 2012 to mid 2014, but since they’ve become pretty worthless.

Hawks play the Jags in two weeks. They are not bad.

They are currently 4th in Rushing Yards. Ettienne ran all over the 9ers (something we didn't do).
They are 4th in Rushing defense. 5th in scoring defense.

Lawrence is not a world beater but if you have run game, and a stout defense, you can be competitive.

I probably watch too many NFL games and absorb too many facts and opinions about it, but more than anything what I see in favor of our Hawks is a steady workmanlike mindset with this team. That starts at the top with MM. There's a certain calm and lack of controversy with this team that is both refreshing and productive. I don't know how long it will last, hopefully the whole season, but it makes for a team that may quietly keep sneaking up on the league and its watchers until, hopefully again, it can no longer be ignored.

I don't actually dislike the Chargers. Their coach is an ass and I have zero faith they will get it done.

Herbert seems like a good dude - but he is 0-2 in the playoffs and doesn't fill me with confidence.

Completely agree that continued rushing attempts — even when they don't garner yardage — lead to sweet play action, but I might be reading Henderson's writeup differently than you are. Are you saying he thinks the Hawks should run less because they haven't seen sustained success on the ground?

I'm not sure I see him stating the Hawks should stop running the ball because of that. To me, he's saying the aspect of the offense that's dragging it down the most is the failed rushes, and it would be preferable if they had fewer no-gain plays.

We’ve faced the most stacked boxes this year with Detroit just behind us.

Teams don’t want us to beat them in the run game and prefer we pass.

The way Darnold is playing, I see things balancing out soon.

If it doesn’t, I’m ok being 14-3 (or better) and being ranked just below average in the run game.

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, The Bills, are not a complete team. The Bills defense is very suspect. If their defense does not improve, they are not winning the AFC.

Agree that Philly is #1. They just win.

Hurts is criminally underrated. Just need him to manage the game? Check. Need him to throw for 200+ in the second half? Check.

9ers had Bosa when we played them. Jags didn't face him.

It's been a pretty crazy start to the season, with teams like the Ravens going 1-3 while the Jags are 3-1. How many of us would have called those two records at the start of the season? IMO things generally don't shake out until the Week 6 or 7.

I don't think we're top 5 yet, ie Eagles, Lions, and Bills territory, but if you don't have the Hawks in your top 10, you haven't been paying attention.
