That word “problem” has been used by multiple media members in recent weeks describing the Seahawks. I freaking love it.

They ARE a problem for the rest of the NFL to solve! Scrappy, talented, young, well coached…

It's funny. It's almost like the national media is saying...well, I guess we have to consider and talk about them now. Those pesky upstarts don't seem to be going away, and they're ruining all our projection models. Anyway, what are the Cowboys up to now?

So f'ing true.

Why such disdain simply because we live in one of the most beautiful areas in the country? It's ironic that we are shunned as an NFL franchise for living in the Pacific Northwest, yet some of the most powerful entities come from the Pacific Northwest! Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, etc, etc...

I've never understood it.

Why does it hurt their hearts to talk about us?

It shouldn't take bravery to talk about us in a positive light. Geography should have nothing to do with national discussion about a team, good or bad.

Meh. Whatevs.

There’s no drama or sound-byte, media darling for them to focus on.

I love it, not just because I don’t watch/read the national sports media much, but because it means we’re an old-school, lunch pail carrying TEAM!

We’re a problem alright… a problem for any of the talking heads that don’t like to pay attention to what’s going on in S. Alaska.

We got a little bit more attention this time, but just a smidge. In Week #2, it was "we talked all offseason about the Steelers, what happened...and let's use up our whole segment on that kickoff return botch". In Week #3, it was all about "are the Saints the worst team in football?" In Week #4, it was mostly "what's wrong with Marvin Harrison Jr. and is Kyler the wrong guy?" I'm not really exaggerating. Let's see how Week #5 goes, but I anticipate "the Bucs had 3 less days to prepare and had to fly cross-country, so let's still talk about why they're SB contenders".

I don't want to be a problem, I want to be a contender. Consistency is the difference.

There has been 23 completed seasons since moving into Seahawks stadium

17 of those have been winning seasons, with 15 playoff appearances, 3 SB appearance and a SB victory

They have featured hall of fame players, all pros, record breakers and a league MVP

It's crazy that the team that went 21 years without a playoff win is kind of a model franchise

Yet still seemingly constantly overlooked and it's a surprise when they have a good team

Could you imagine the hype the cowboys would get with the same run in this millennium?

It is what it is though

Rich Eisen

Colin Cowherd

Obviously Cowherd doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He calls Schneider one of the best personnel/front office guys. I’ve seen .net experts (stole that from toffee) say he should’ve been fired 37 years ago and is a terrible GM.

For 3 or 4 seasons we had some terrible drafts. It had to do with coordinators having a say in the draft. We just have better coordinators now. That's my unscientific opinion. Can't wait for NDs Reilly to bust down the middle clubbing qbs. Durde really wanted him.

Living outside the Seattle area now for 30 years, I have a different perspective. From New York to LA, I've seen the Seahawks get more than their share of coverage, especially in the last 15 years. It's not as much as the focus on the Cowboys, but the Cowboys' coverage tends to be consistently pretty negative, due to Jerry Jones.

I agree that this off-season that the pundits were all down on the Seahawks, but that was a legitimate concern, based on last year's performance and the trading away of two key players. I myself had misgivings.

But in terms of media attention, I don't think you can say the Seahawks don't get their share.
