Sam Darnold on Saints game (and other things)

Man...I imagine he must've felt like he was just about done playing during his time with the Jets. I would've said "F*ck this."

How this guy managed to hang in there and kept at it for this long is a testament to his Mental fortitude as a player and as a person.

Actually it's a defensive move to prevent your mouth from saying things before your brain is fully engaged.

I very much enjoy Darnold's interviews. He has his schtick down to a T and it works for me. He is direct and doesn't have to think about it. You can tell he has thought everything through so it's his story and he sticks with it. Great stuff.

yeah. The "Umm's" for me are just him choosing his words carefully 'cause you know (and as he knew from his days in the cut-throat NY Media) that saying the wrong thing could and will come back to haunt you (eg. "I see ghosts").

I like the fact that Sam Darnold is efficient in the red zone (Seahawks were 4/5 today). Unlike the guy who was here before him. Scoring TDs not settiling for FGs makes a big difference.

He just looks like a savvy veteran out there. Doesn’t get too emotional and tries to run an efficient offense. Exactly what this team needs right now.
