He tries to get rid of the ball too often, trying not to get hit, but he needs to just take he sack sometimes and stop with the stupid turnovers. Someone needs to tell him that Pancakes are much better than Turnovers!
It was getting late in the game when Darnold was about to get sacked and he tossed the ball BACKWARDS toward the sideline which our guy failed to catch. Luckily the ball made it out of bounds. Otherwise it was about to be recovered as a live ball and run in for a Stealers TD. Darnold sometimes responds with questionable reactions in chaotic situations, but that one was almost VERY bad.

So that wasn't a forward pass then?

I don't remember the play.

(I do remember one where he threw it a bit forward toward the sideline)

Other than the 2 Int's, I thought he played well and was one of the reason we won this game, The Horton TD, and the JSN deep pass late in the game were huge in this victory. I'm super excited for Darnold...

Good Qbs have to make a couple big time plays a game and he made them. Thats a good sign.

Looks like a very decent mid-tier QB. In NFL that is no small feat. Is that a good or bad thing for the team? Depends.

With the type of defense this team has? DEFINITELY a good thing.

We don't need Sam to be Superman.

Only The Punisher. ;)

Darnold showed a lot of poise and moxie in the pocket and knows how to lead. He was throwing dots

I missed the game due to work. For those of you that watched, how did he do? I see the stats, but I'd like to hear what folks on our beloved .net thought about our ginger signal caller.
McCarthy threw 2 picks and pretty much sucked for the Vikes in a 22-6 loss
GeNO threw 3 picks and sucked for the Raiders in a 20-9 loss to Harbaugh's Chargers. Including a typical Red Zone pick.

Darnold made the Vikes regret moving on from him for McCarthy, and made the Seahawks thrilled about the upgrade of moving on from Geno to Darnold.

Darnold was overall steady and solid despite the 2 picks and the Hawks D made up the difference to get the win.
Stood in under heavy pressure and hit Horton for a TD. Bad choice for 1st pick, threw to well-covered receiver. 2nd pick was a tipped ball abortion on a 4th and 1 abortion of a call by Kubiak, Darnold couldn't make chicken salad out of a chicken poop playcall on that one. Also had a really nice 3rd down conversion where he eluded a sack and threw to Barner, for a first down. Later hit JSN with a lovely deep pass that led to Walker's clinching TD. Also, Darnold showed some nice chemistry with Kupp and JSN, and hit his TEs 4 times. Darnold didn't lose the game for us and made enough plays to give the rest of the team, offense, defense, and special teams, opportunities to also make plays and get the win, which they did.

Dare I say he managed the game well?

This remains a very strange comment.

Isn't the whole point of the Kubiak offense is for Sam to.....wait for it....GET RID OF THE BALL QUICKLY??

Now you're complaining about that? 🤷‍♂️

"trying not to get hit"

What QB WANTS to get hit? Sam's a big man but he's not exactly Ben Rothelsberger here. (that's another weird complaint)

but he needs to just take he sack sometimes

Sam DID take sacks...and he also got blasted a few times that should've been penalties.

and stop with the stupid turnovers.

I think you're making too much of a big deal over the 2nd INT. Way too much of a big deal.

I mean yeah...He's got to be better (especially on that first INT) but the 2nd INT is Kubiak's fault for even calling a pass play on a 4th and 1.

Calm down.

The second pick was dead from the start. It was fourth down, and instead of running it, they ran a playaction and Sam had a defender in his lap by the time he turned around.

If he didn't try to get rid of the ball, he would never had heard the end of fans saying, "he should have at least tried to get rid of it, it was a turnover either way."

It was an impossible situation for all but maybe 3 qbs (Hurts, Larmar, Mahomes).
