he looked fine for a being in a new offense. They had the ball at the 14 yard line with over a minute left. they should have won that game. They cant come out and get held to 13 points. They were dominating the LOS in the first half. Some positives for sure. not the outcome id like but the amount of doom and gloom is hilarious. Fock man get a hold of yourselves.

I'm watching the video.

He pats the ball, then throws. That pat is what gave time for the fumble. He could have also stepped up in the pocket.

It's hard to be an NFL QB, yes. But Sam Darnold is an NFL QB and needs to be better.
Okay that's fair.

I'm not going to argue the point.

He should be better and I think he will do better.

It was a mistake not to play the Starters more than just one series the entire preseason, imo.

I think what we're witnessing was another Preseason game feeling-out-process for Darnold and the offense when they should've been already set to go for the regular season.

I'm a EWU alum and a Tri Cities resident, so if anyone has an emotional attachment to Cooper Kupp, it would be me. Yet I have to admit that he looks done.

But I'm not giving up on him just yet, and I'm not going to second guess our decision to sign him. Let's give him another game or two before we throw him under the bus.

Same with Darnold. He didn't lose the game for us as he didn't throw any picks and the one fumble you can't lay on him. This is a run-first offense and he's a game manager. But I expect more.

And I agree that he should have played at least a couple of series in the preseason.

Walker gets blown up before the first down. First image, ball should have already been out. TD.
Second image, when ball actually would have been thrown -- Walker gets lit up.

In my longer breakdown I identified the progression and realized that JSN was his #1 and why he was late to KW.

But I will leave you with this -- he stayed on JSN too long because that's what he did all day long.

No, just have run out of minutia to argue about. It wasn't some horrible play, it was an All Pro end making a big time play and sometimes that shit just happens.

150 yards passing. Smith Nigiba had 124 of those 150 yards. So the rest of the team had a combined total of 26 yards.

Surprising since we kept so many TEs that they had one catch combined

They need to and will adjust this

I was looking forward to a scheme that utilized the RB's & TE's more....Then yesterday happened. 😩

Mostly Playcallers (aka Kubiak)

Though Cooper Kupp dropping that key 3rd down pass kind of made Darnold shy away from looking for him the rest of the game.

The scuttlebutt from the Vikings fan base all offseason was that Darnold holds onto the ball too long.

Still, that's one of those plays I just gotta tip the cap to Nick Bosa. He does that to guys. In fact, he slammed the door on more than one third down that game.

If he's going to shy away after 1 drop then he is definitely a reason why they sucked.
hey I'm just throwing out explanations as to why.

Not saying that's the actual reason.

I'm sure there are other factors at play here.

Which he did not in this game.

I read somewhere that in this game his average time to throw was 2.59 seconds as opposed to 3.09 when he was a Vikings.

So he was quicker in his release than last season.

Anyway, JSN wasn't innocent himself either as he had a fumble that turned out to be a brutal one in the long run.

Offense needs to play better next week.

Horton needs to be used (period).

Tight-Ends need to to be used (period).

PLAYACTION needs to be used (period).

Kubiak needs to use the real gameplan and not Grubb's leftovers.
