We all had a full off season of expectations and no doubt this one sucks.

I was just wondering which player most unmet your expectations and why. For me it was Kupp. When you get my age (53), time goes by so fast that it feels like just yesterday he was completely “unguardable” . I thought he would have a huge impact and make us forget about DK. He was pretty much invisible with a big drop.

Not looking for coaching criticism even if that was by far the biggest disappointment for you.

A lot of players didn't play well on O and D.

I'll have to watch more tape throughout the week for me to process it.

I know many will say woolen but Kenneth Walker is the biggest disappointment to me.

He should've been chomping at the bit to get this season off to a roaring start but what does he do?

a Meek 10 carries for 20 yards.

By comparison, Sam Darnold had 14 yards on 2 carries when he scrambled. 🤦‍♂️

It's just absolutely embarrassing and I actually feel embarrassed for him.

But he also seemed to go down on first contact which is a problem.

Charbs does not go down on first contact which is critical to get those extra yards, imo.

I think it's time to put Charbs as the RB1 and elevate Martinez (When is Houlani coming back from injury?)

I expected way more from Darnold.
Hard to watch him throw mainly to one receiver

I was gonna say Woolen, but he actually performed as I expected him to.

It was a disappointment all around. As the old saying goes, "you live as a team or you die as a team" and in this game they definitely did the latter.

Which he did very successfully. Not sure why it would bother you that he threw to his top WR.
200

I think the bigger criticism if someone is to throw it at Darnold's feet is where the Misdirections/Reverses/PLAYACTION were? (well okay that is more Kubiak's fault than Darnold's...in fact, I found very little to blame Darnold for in this game)

There was a ton of VANILLA we saw almost like Kubiak was treating this game as another Preseason game and not an NFL regular season one.

How is Riq a disappointment? Were you expecting something different from what you normally get? If so, why?

Walker was disappointing. But he's like the Mariners. He can only hit home runs, can't get base hits. He's been like that for a while, though not as bad as this last game.

Darnold was the disappointment, because I was hoping to be happily surprised (I know, that makes no sense). Instead, I got a guy that looked a lot like Dilfer out there. That was a bummer.

(I should say the OC. But I wasn't expecting anything palatable so I can't claim to be disappointed with I knew it was going to be blah.)

Huh?

Darnold completed about 70% of his passes and didn't throw picks.

He could've thrown TDs but for whatever reason Kubiak kept him locked down with training wheels attached to him. (there were no misdirections....no reverses....NO PLAYACTION PASSES....)

And btw, despite all that, it was because of Sam that they were even in a position late to get the go-ahead score as he drove them down the field late.

If Abe Lucas could've done his job and not get dog-walked right into Sam's arm as he was throwing it, the result would've been far different (and more favorable).

(btw, that should have been ruled a forward pass, not a fumble)

Of course if MacDonald had decided to just do a running play and give the ball to Charbs, that would've also worked.

That 2nd pre season game gave me hope but just like so many hawks OC's over the years , go away from what works , I saw almost zero misdirection and it just made us look like idiots
vanilla is not my favorite flavor
This loss is totally on him and yes reek sucked way too much

Darnold wasn't great, but he wasn't horrible. He almost had the game winner right there on that last drive if Bosa didn't do Bosa things.

A lot of blame to go around.

Overall I thought both the defense and offense underperformed based on expectations. Sam looked so mid it was surprising.

Riq needs to go. Just the same old same old getting burnt with that dude.

Talk about a game we should have won.

Just disappointed right now.
