Green Bay makes sense for Parsons. They are a NFC contender without question.

We got Paul & Kendrick for nothing and kept our 1st rounders and cap surplus.
They can have Parsons and his $3M+ a sack crippling salary.
This is a win-win for everyone in the NFC except these two has been, once legacy teams. As for GB being a contender, yeah we'll see.

Let's be real. The Packers are SB contenders now and for at least a few years to come. We're not now, and debatable that we will be in the next few years. That's what it's all about, isn't it?

On top of it all, GB has the youngest roster in the NFL now.

200

Still glad we didn't give up that amount for Parsons.

Maybe I would've done it for someone like Hendrickson....

This will not work out like Charles Haley or Reggie White for GB. It won't even surprise me if they don't win their division in the next four years.
We didn't need MP to be a contender, that's undiluted BS.

Contract aside, GB did not give up much at all for Parsons. Odds are GB is going to be picking in the 28-32 slot range of the first round the next few years. With the exception of the extra year of club control, these are basically two second round picks. The lineman they sent is 30 year old DT that's not even on the same radar screen as Parsons talent-wise.

I’d rather break the bank on defense than offense…(see Cincy who finally came to their senses and got Hendrickson back).

But…that’s a steep price.

@CouchLogic
You would give that to a 31 yr old past his prime instead of a 26 yr old who just entered his?
Well I was higher on Hendrickson than Parsons so I'm a bit biased.

Overall, the point is that we get to keep our 1st rounders and wound up with real bargains like Chris Paul Jr. & Kendrick for the grand total of NOTHING dollars/draft picks. (and our Cap space remains spacious)

I'm good.

I care because I'm a football fan and interested in what happens around the league. Oh and...I detest the Cowboys and take great schadenfreude in the misery of that franchise and their fans.
You must be mistaking me for someone who cares about the Cowboys then.

My mistake.

F*CK THE COWBOYS!

You seem high on the Packers. Honest question, why? Outside of the Eagles, Lions…What makes you think the Packers are right there for NFC contention? I mean this in the sense of any more than the Seahawks or Vikings or Bucs as example?

Truly just an honest question.

At that price? Glad we didn’t bother.
Totally agree. Plus we’ve been picking really well in the first round recently. Can’t say I’d give two Zabels up for this guy plus all that money.

On the defensive line, for a guy of unquestioned ability, in a league where finished sacks are amongst the most influential commodities, on a team where most of the DL is over the hill, yeah, I'd absolutely at least CONSIDERED giving up that much for Parsons.

I'm afraid most folks here are undervaluing the importance of the defensive line. For a cornerback, receiver, offensive lineman, tight end, yeah, I'd cringe at that kind of money. But not for a quarterback or his natural predator, the sack artist. Not in this league.
