First and foremost he really impressed me during the preseason. Thomas was all over the field making plays. With this said, I think he’s going to play a pivotal role this year on the defense. The only question is whether his body can hold up against NFL sized players. Rooting for him!!!

If I heard Mcdonald correctly, he identified Thomas as a dime linebacker. So, to start with, Thomas has a role from time to time in that package plus special teams.

I thought Patty'O was a bit better, but Thomas is definitely a superior athlete. And probably a better blitzer. Thomas is a year or two younger, as well.

Fringe players should always do that, play so well that it makes it hard for the coach to sit/cut/send him down to the PS.

I always liked him, thought he was super underrated, and was a bit bummed when they chose not to keep him. IIRC, he had a solid role with Philly.
